    Ford Racing Jounce Stops

I bought the Ford Racing M-5570-A Jounce Stops hoping the rear ones would be a bit shorter than the stock ones ... but I am not sure they are shorter. I have not installed them yet, but here's a preview of the parts. The rears have part number BR3V-5K570-B.

I thought they were shorter, so that when you used the lowering springs they wouldn't hit like they can do with the stock ones?

They're on my list of mods for the winter - I have the FRPP springs and have hit the stops a few times on good bumps.

I have not put them side by side, but they don't look short enough to make a significant difference IMO. My car is lowered with the FR springs, but so far I have not hit the bump stops yet.

Maybe they snub in a kinder-gentler way:

"Unique jounce stops designed for improved stability/ride comfort when used in conjunction with FRPP lowering springs"

...that could be a good thing.

6-speed and i were comparing p/n's over on TS...these are in the new FRPP handling kit specific for the 11's.....and these stops are already on my car....so why have them in the kit...

...maybe they're on the SVTPack cars but not the other '11s? dunno.

Why are these called joust stops?

I thought a joust stop was for front to rear action and bump stops were for up and down action?

Why wouldn't these be bump stops?

    Just weird.

    .
A joust is to engage in combat with lances on horseback
or to engage in combat or competition as if in a joust

These are "jounce stops".... to move in an up-and-down manner : bounce

What so hard to understand about that...
