Okay Carnut how hard is it to add a Torsen T2R and upgrade to 31 spline axles.
I've re-geared Dana 30's, 44's and AMC Model 20 diff's in the past w/ much success.
I've watched 8.8's being re-geared. but didn't pay attention to details enough to do it myself.
I've seen pinion depth gauge equipment used, but is it also necessary to use a spreader tool ? I don't have one of those.
It depends upon the ring gear and carrier size, probably. You can probably make one from steel angle and threaded rod.
You have a Ford service manual don't you?
If you have have done other integral carrier differentials, the 8.8 should be easy.
I have the GT500 service manual on disk.
I guess that would be very similar if not the same?
