It's full-on winter here in Vegas. Sunday/Monday we had snow all around the valley. I had an appt Monday morning and while we didn't have any accumulation at our house there were lots of cars and trucks that had 2-3" on the hood and roof.
Today it was cloudy and cold all day. Just going out to the spa and now it's raining. The forecast calls for more snow all around the valley including the low altitudes like us. (It's already snowing up in the northwest Red Rocks area.) This time they have gotten some snow plows from somewhere else and are actually talking about a county-wide school snow day!!!! The district includes all of Clark County which goes all the way to Mesquite, so even though we might only get rain here it would be county wide.
Honest to G**. Two flakes of snow and people don't know what to do. We went through the same thing in Phoenix in the 70's except it was enough to stick to the streets, and we just stayed off the roads until it melted. We both grew up in the midwest but everyone forgets how to drive.

Was thinking of you Tony when we saw the snow in Vegas on TV -- I remember when daughter lived there it was chaos when more than three flakes

It Snowed! There is accumulation on the roofs but at least here the streets are just wet. There is a little on some of the grassy areas but not everywhere. Our daughter that lives about 2 miles away says her apartment building grass is covered. I'm sure the north west and south east parts have lots. Northwest would be up by Red Rocks and they got 3" or so earlier this week. Southeast is "Seven Hills" and they got a little the last time but probably more this time. They didn't call school off.

According to that it's the first officially recorded snow fall since records started - the official Las Vegas weather being recorded at McCarran Airport. The Luxor picture is cool. I can see the light from our house.
Northern Arizona got it too. 31" in Flagstaff!
And while the kids didn't get a snow day today, they will tomorrow. Clark County School District just announced that schools will be closed tomorrow (Friday). They are expect "black ice" conditions tomorrow morning.
