Congrats to Richard Lelsz and Strictly Performance on running the first 9-second run with a 2011 5.0L Mustang GT.

The shop swapped out the stock six-speed manual trans for a C4 and then he plumbed a direct port nitrous system. Using prototype tuning software, Lelsz threw down 656 rwhp this morning on the dyno.

The white GT features upper and lower control arms, Bogarts all around, and the aforementioned parts.

Tonight during Test And Tune at Houston Raceway Park, Lelsz ran 9.96 at 137 mph right off the trailer! Congrats to the entire team on running so quickly with the shop ride and pushing the boundary even further.

Everything says this engine should have exploded. Did they change the internals? Either that or all of the Ford info "reported" by the press (with no confirmation from Ford) was a boatload of hooey.

Sounds like a stock tune with nitrous added with an add on nitrous tuner (they may have reduced the fuel though an added 2* of global timing to it). I see a 1.48 60ft so she's hooking well. This is a time bomb waiting to blow..IMO still much better than adding boost to that engine.

I just wish I was a good enough driver to get off the line like that. I'm trapping that speed but can't make the 9's......yet.

I won't go 8pt. I may do a 6 if I can get the custom bends I want. We've been talking about it for a long time but I have not gotten the car into the guy doing mine long enough yet to really work it out. We have some other little things in the works too if I ever get a little time....
