While at ShelbyFest this year, I purchased a detailing product for the engine compartment. I must say it worked incredibly well and was very simply.
You just spray your entire engine compartment, then go wash you car like normal and keep it running for 20 minutes. Then just wipe up any residue left.
Here are a few photos.

Nice Timmy.
Did you clean it first, or just spray it on and let it sit?

Steve told me to spray it on, close the hood and let it run for about 20 minutes. If it turns white, you used too much.

What do you mean "clean it first". It's never been dirty.

That's what he told me. I followed his instructions and it worked like a charm.

I know mine was a mess when I got it home. Even though I only live a few miles away.

If the engine compartment is dirty it must be cleaned first. After the area is clean and dry, spray the SCD Dressing on everything under the hood except the air filter. Close the hood and start the car. Let the car run for twenty minutes to get hot and cure the dressing. Finally open the hood and the areas should clean and have a satin or matte finish. If you have white residue then you either sprayed to much or the car didnt run long enough. Happy Detailing.

Got any way of easily cleaning the undercarriage short of buying a lift? I changed my oil the other day and was disgusted by the underside of my car.
Thanks

I used Showcars claybar last night... After I finished my car I threw away the other types of clay bars I have... The stuff is great to work with...

Last week I used the air hose on the engine bay of the 75 Vette. I then sprayed Show Car's engine detailer on the engine, closed the hood and let the car run for about 20 minutes. I opened the hood and bam, nice and clean and shiiney. There was a couple of things I had to wipe off like the chrome distributor cover and air cleaner but over all it looks great. It also works great on the tires.

But it's an old Vette... so they're pretty cool.
VD - any updates on those T-birds you have in the garage too??

Thanks again for all the help and advise Steve, it sure helped!! I really like the paste wax!! It is so nice to be able to wax the whole car at once, take a break and let it haze up good, then buff it all off...
The products worked great with my porter cable rotary... At first I was using too much polish and noticed some polish balls but soon figured out that less actually works better and is easier to remove... The glaze went on awesome, was very easy to buff off, and left no dusty residue... Smells like grapes too!! I ended up putting the wax on by hand and then working it in with the machine... I probably used more wax than I needed to but it sure left a shine!!
Thanks Steve!!

Yeah, go with that thought...:boxing:
Who took the picture you use for your avatar? Your car looks red there. If it wasn't you, see if they can help. Maybe there's some adjustment or software switch that will help.

Maybe it is the lighting color in the shop that is the problem.
Could be the neons.
