I looked at the forum the other night on the blackberry and noticed that the "What's New" button thingie was missing. Fine, I caught up when I got home.
This morning Verizon gave me a new software download. The update causes some things (like cookies) to be reset. So when I logged back in again, the What's New thingie was back. I don't like the red skin, it gives me a headache, so I reset back to the grey one. What's New thingie gone. Went back to red, it's there, back to grey, gone so I think it's real.

I would give up on the BB for cruising the internet. It has never done web pages very well. I try not to use mine whenever I can. Unless there is a mobile version for a website, I stay away from it.

Not my experience. The BB works everywhere else.
Whatever it was just changed in the past few days; it worked on Monday or Tuesday. And the red skin also works.

I can tweak the red down if someone tells me what is a good color. Preferably the RGB or HEX color code.
I dont want to go through all the settings and find its still too brght and do that over and over again etc. ;)

BB has never worked well for me viewing most forums.
As VD said, I just don't use it for that anymore.

We purchased sixteen of the Blackberry Storm II's at the office. We've replaced all but two of those original sixteen.
They are the biggest pieces of Sh!t that have ever hit the face of the earth. I would judge anything by a RIM product.
I'm still using one of the original sixteen, and it is starting to lock-up on a regular basis. Also, it can't tell what direction the screen is oriented anymore. It keeps re-orienting direction as you use it. Really a poor quality product.

I just to rid of my work Blackberry. It was the biggest pile of crap I had ever used for a phone. Web browsing was a pita and the thing always locked up, dropped calls and wouldn't ring on incoming calls. Couple of minutes later you would get a voice mail and it never rang.

Every phone has its downside. I'm stuck with it for another year and a half. So, my point is that:
1. This forum used to work with the grey theme. It doesn't any more
2. The red theme (which is very hard to read) does work
3. The other two car forums that I do look at on the Blackberry work with no problems, those being StangMafia and ClubCobra. Both have worked since I got the BB.

Sorry to hear your stuck with that phone for a year and a half. Now on to your points.
1. Nothing has changed in the last week or so with updates etc on this site. You said that you did a new software upgrade on your phone. Your phone is the cause of your issues with this site.
The what's new tab is on my computer on both styles. It's also on my phone on both styles. Not only is there the "What's new" tab, there is also the new post's drop down box in blue that is on both pages that will let you view all new posts and the view today's posts option. This option is also present on both styles and it's also on my phone. I checked.
2. You seem to be the only one that is complaining about the red version. Sorry for that, but right now you have 2 choices. Default or Red.
3. I'm pretty sure that neither site you posted is using the Vbulletin 4.0.3 software that we are. Actually, I just checked and neither one is! One is using an old version of Vbulletin and the other is using vbportal software.

Hmmm, how's that for customer service?
What you say is absolutely NOT TRUE. The problem happened between Monday or Tuesday and Thursday when I first noticed it. It was the BB update that brought to my attention that the red them worked and the grey theme didn't.
I guess I no longer care about what you think about blackberries. If you don't want to fix it fine. I expect the same response from Microsoft. But the theme of this new forum was supposed to be improved customer service. I guess not.
I won't be posting any more bugs. Not worth the time to document them.
Red is not color blind friendly. Well known fact.

Customer service? Really? Your not a customer. What have you paid for? A customer infers that you bought a product or service. Did you buy or pay for anything? No you didn't.
You said the other night, my error. I didn't realize that the other night was between "Monday or Tuesday and Thursday". Regardless, nothing changed software wise on this site in well over a week. That says to me that the issue is not on the site, but with the end user or end users equipment.
But your still saying your having issues with the new software. Clear all the cookies and try it again. You also might want to check out the blackberry forums for an app that might help.

As for themse and colors, you have 2 choices and I gave you another way to do the same thing without the "what's new" button. Even thought all the buttons and tabs show up on both themes for me on both my computer and my cell phone. Try it. I have attached pictures from my cell phone to show you on both themes and what I am seeing on my cell phone. If you are color blind and red bothers you, then use the default version and if the what's new tab doesn't show up, then use the method I told you about already.
Now, as for your other issues Tony, you have to realize that no one here is your personal technical support team for your cell phone. You can research your issues on a blackberry forum. I'm not saying that no one here is unwilling to try and help, but no one is going to change everything on a website to help one person. Many people have given you helpful hints and tips on trying to get your blackberry working better. Have you even tried those?
You know what I think of blackberries. I never asked you to care about what I thought about Blackberries. It's my opinion. Doesn't make it any more or less valid then yours. How am I or anyone else supposed to fix your phone? I have personal experience with them and while they are good at some stuff. They do not excel in any areas as a multimedia phone as you seem to be trying to use it as. Sorry but that's the way it is. Not trying to bash your choice in cell phones. But that's the reality of your situation as many people have stated.
As has been said before, we are waiting for the updated mobile browser version to come out for VB4. I just checked and the guy is still working on it. There are alot of bugs in the current mobile version and it's not worth installing right now only to have to fix a ton of stuff. I hope it's out in the next week or so but there are no promises.
And one last note. No one here is getting any sort of compensation one way or another for working on this site. It was done for the members and everyone involved has contributed a huge amount of time to make this happen. All the work and behind the scenes stuff is done on personal time in an effort to make this site a great place for everyone to hang out, exchange information and have fun. So unless you would like to start paying everyone microsoft-like wages, it's not a good comparison to use.:spend:

"So long" what?
Are you leaving because someone couldn't fix your problem?
I think the people here are doing the best they can.
NO ONE is getting paid for doing ANYTHING here on this site. This is 1000000% NON-PROFIT - no "owners" to take money from "members" for their own personal gain.
If you're trying to say that the people who are working on this site, on their personal time, aren't trying to help you, then you're wrong.
Hope you're not "gone" - but if you are, I think you needed to know the truth.

Are those thumbnails of what the mobile version would look like? I have a G1 and some mobile versions of sites are good and some the original is better buy I take what I can get. Strangely enough this site lets me log on and post through the G1 where i never could log on at Stang mafia with it so I appreciate the ability to do that.
I like the G1 but I'm going to seriously look at the iphones when my contract is up. If you could use one with t mobile I'd have one now. I thought all the Apple fanatics were spouting koolaid hype before I got my Nano but now I know they're right about their products.
Thanks for all the work you guys do.

Those thumbnails are just a regular version of this website as I see it on my iPhone 4. We have not loaded a mobile version yet because of some issues with it. The mobile version, once implemented, will offer less graphics and options then the full version or theme. It should load faster for people with slower phone connections and hardware. That's the only reason to have a mobile version.
As for the iPhone, I was like you and doubted that they were that good. I didn't get the first version and got the 3g. It was the best and most useful daily device I have ever owned. I just got my iPhone 4 on Thursday and it's leaps ahead of the 3g. I'm really liking it so far. I have none of the issues that have been reported and it is very fast. I would recommend it as a great phone to have.
Thanks for the Kudos. :tiphat:
