The T-Bird has to be the most changed body style over the years. From small car to big car to small car, I can't think of any other car that has gone through so many changes.

Including a station wagon version.

They might have had a winner if they ditched that hideous "Vista Cruiser" roof. If you imagine a flater roofline, then the rediculously tall rear window would go away and probably look more a Nomad roof style (which is very attractive BTW).

Cool, I never new there was a station wagon version.

They never made it to production. It is just a concept car.

But there was a production Cougar wagon version. In the late 70s or early 80s I think.

Got pictures, I don't remember such a thing. The late seventies to early eighties was a period of really crappy stuff so I guess I wouldn't be totally surprised.

...also just concept, but could make for a very cool restomod if it still exists somewhere ...this one was commissioned by a FoMoCo executive, as I understand it, to force a dialog on the subject but it was essentially DOA -- still very cool tho, imo.

Is that a Mustang or a Cougar? Those look like 64/65 Mustang tail lights.
I wondered where the idea for the Pacer rear window came from...

I think this is the Cougar wagon (called Cougar Villager), but I think you could argue this could have easily also been a T-bird or LTD wagon since I think they sared virtually identical large platoforms then. I has a '78 LTD coupe(no B pillar) for mny years and my neighbor had a T-bird and, except for trim and roof vinyl break-point, they were virtually indistinguishable.

Yep, that was mustang. The Cougar was first based on the larger '67 stang.

Fors sure ;)
That's a one-of-kind 'bird.
Since George posted these pics on the other site I think it's only fitting we pay tribute again to the rare SVT 'bird
...that rollbar is the cleanest installation I've ever seen!

I had a 89 Thunderbird Super Coupe, first supercharged electronically controlled Ford factory car ( I think).
It was quite a car, got better than 30MPG on long road trips.
