With Mercury folding, dealers need an upscale brand with a strong image—beyond an airport car.
For 10 years Ronnie Lohr was a steady buyer of luxury cars. But when it came time to replace his Infiniti earlier this year the 66-year-old retired marketing executive drove off in a Ford Taurus instead.

Ford needs to get the Lincoln brand name out and come up with something that is very different than the Ford lineup. The old re-wrap the front and rear with different lights is about over. They need to take a page out of GM of what they do with Cadillac as compared to the rest of the GM lineup. Once they figure that out, I think they will start to make a small impact on the rest of the manufacturers and then start to expand on what customers are looking for in a luxury brand.

Ford was ahead of it's time with the Lincoln brand. Now Toyota has Lexus, Honda has Acura etc. They really need to come up with a new brand to compete.

Benz and Bimmer do not re-badge other models like FORD, FORD has and FAILED with Lincoln, especially what you think Lincoln has made some most iconic and coolest vehicles ever, now look at them!

I remember seeing this at the New York Auto Show a few years ago and thinking; "What are you thinking?"

Maybe because they are rare. Not many people buy them so they are rare.
