Finally picked up my new alternator today. It's going in tomorrow and will help the batteries out a lot. It's supposed to put out 180 amps at idle and around 240 amps at 1,800 rpms.:yikes: Should keep the batteries charged up nicely!

They guy that made it for me had it powder coated. I think it looks pretty sharp. Too bad you wont be able to see it real good once it's in.

Type, it's an alternator! :boink:
Rating, 180 amps at idle and 240 amps at 1,800 rpms.
Manufacturer, some guy in Los Angeles I think. It's custom built and my guys at the stereo shop that did all my stereo work had it built for me.

quick question - I have sometimes felt like my power steering is not a strong as it should be. I noticed it after I put in the C&R heat exchanger with the dual fans but that may just be when I noticed it. Do youthink a better alternator could help here or is more likely a pump?

HE has nothing to do with it. Did you change tanks, fluid. If so, did you cycle steering after the fact.

Did you go to a wider tire on front? I'm wondering if it's more caused by your suspension mods, but I can't recall what mods you have. Increasing caster during an alignment will increase steering effort.
