Research :yellowcard3:.
Nice, except the SR-71s did not have any silver (bare titanium) on them, the A-12s did.
If you want to get extremely picky, the official color of the SR-71 is actually blue, & yes, it does look black as night in person.

THE Venerable name of SR-71, a true aviation legend, should not be running around on a car. JMO

So FORD get a :yellowcard3: (there just along for the ride here), Little JACK, Carroll and The Experimental Aircraft Association get three :redcard3::redcard3::redcard3: for sullying the Aircraft's name.

This car is dangerously close to stepping into my lane. The bad *** flat black Mustang is my terroritory.
No shiny shiite on my car either. If they wanted to do it right, they should have called me for styling help.

Sounds to me like a Roush-developed ride with licensed Shelby kool-aid 'provenance.' Not bad looking tho and there's a tradition of themed Mustangs for Oshkosh. The Darkside legal team will be forthcoming!
Remember the 2008 Oshkosh one-off: the AV8R (http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/05/fords-av8r-mustang-nets-500k-for-charity/) ...lots of great theme detailsin that one and very classy (even tho a 400bHP SC'd GT is now so ...2008 -lol).

I know the dough went to CHARITY but anyone that would pay that much $$$ for that car, needs to be slapped and put on meds.
There would need to be a real collective effort to knock some sense into him. JMO

lol - true ...unfortunately, that article doesn't show the interior -- the AV8R was a virtually hand-made one-off built-for-Ford design piece with many one-of-a-kind details whereas this Roush/Shelby example seems much more just a Roush with some paint and dress pieces ...and a license agreement.
However, I certainly agree with you from a cost-performance point of view ...a $.5M was absurd aside from it going to charity.
Maybe the buyer of this one will sign the check with the new $20K Mt.Blanc DNA-encoded-ink pen ...just 'cause he can -lol.
