When I am going down the road and getting on the throttle when I hit some bumps the rear end is all over the place Its hard to keep it in a straight line.
Would a watts link solve my problem or do I need LCA's UCA"s and panhard bar.
This is driving me nuts. Some fool in a BMW was holding me up and when I went around him every bump I hit the car was everywhere. This has to be fixed

Watts will do the trick. The LCA's mainly help with wheel hop.

I was following Orf to his place at Orfstock & he has the Watts link. The road was a 2 lane county PA road. He was carving up the corners like he was in a ricer.

Billet LCA are cheap and will get rid of most of the wheel hop but not all of it.

Like a day and night difference with a Watts link over a pan hard bar when handling bumps while corning......

+1

The entire rear end of our SHELBYS is more akin to this http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRWaM7rO3BpiZg2la4mYU-2LArfA8ebfxogHsYqTz44HuPdRqk&t=1&usg=__8LckjkmEJ5GBzpxw_42e5zhRwzY= than a modern GT car, I will probably end up with the Watts Link too as I have LOW expectations for my pending Panhard fix.

Fays2...

J&M Red Billet lowers and adj upper...

Tokico adj struts and shocks...

Still have the factory springs and sway bars...

It made a night and day difference... Car is very stable, the rear doesn't kick out any more when hard on the throttle and cornering is sweet!! No wheelhop whatsoever... Pretty fine control for some drifting action too!! Awesome for daily driving around the city too...

I love my watts link.

I always hated the jumpyness when turning over uneven roads (even some pretty smooth ones). Now - it's planted and very behaved when turning.

Plus, it's pretty easy to install. Heck - if I can do it, anyone can.

Fays, Saleen or STEEDA?

There are still a few SALEEN Units around but they are getting hard to find, the others are easy to get and BVM carries the Fays, so who makes the best Watts Link?

I would give the Saleen a Fail on looks alone... Some points for the red paint...

The Steeda one looks ok but wouldn't work on my vert, so Fail...

Fays2.. WIN!!

Of course that was a biased review...

I'm sure they all work pretty much the same. I've had the Saleen Watts link for a few years now and it's preformed flawlessly. It was very easy to install too.
Oh and no red paint on mine to slow me down either....lol

Oh and the black bar just behind the rear cover is not part of the watts link it is the rear sway bar.

If I could add my 2 cents.... I have a fays2 and I love it. it got rid of a lot of the "play" in the rear end. Also the guy (Jim) from Fays is awesome, I was able to call him directly and get questions answered and he donated 50 buck to my FSG (family support group), just for that I will reccomend a fays2 from here on out.

I see it's black. The fastest color. Well done Birdy.

Just to keep me from getting flushed to the junkyard...............I have the Fays too. It has really planted the back end noticably. Mikey Likey.

How is the 11' different?

Remember, it's got external cooling fins now. Not sure how far they extend compared to older models. I'll have to take some measurements when its up on ramps Sunday.

Oh yeah. Didn't know they had that much of a difference.

I thought you were talking more about the axle and mounting points - those should be the same as the 07+ cars.

Do you really need it? I thought SVT finally got the rear end sorted with the 2011, especially with the SVT Package.

Good question JT but the Watts wouldn't affect the springs and shock package only enhance them IMO.

Probably not. They did do a lot of fixing there, but the back end is slightly off as previous models. I can see the tire protruding further on the driver side, so it's alignment is off about a half inch. Either need to do adj panhard or the watts to center it properly. I liked the watts, but we'll see.

so which one is the best the Steeda or the Fays sure is a big price difference from 600 to 900

Joe G

IMO, no reason to spend more on the Steeda. They Fay's is designed like a brick house. It's very solid, the welds are fantastic, and Jim Fay is even available via his personal phone if you need help during the install.

When I visited his shop he showed me a few differences between his and the Steeda (which was re-designed after he brought his out to copy some of his work - but poorly IMO). One big difference is how it clamps to the axle.

Look at the Steeda - it has very small contact patches where it actually clamps to the axle.

http://www.motorator.com/uploads/blog_images/0000/0002/steeda_watts_link1.jpg

Now look at the Fays. The solid clamp is about 5" wide and the entire thing clamps evenly around the axle. This helps make sure the force is evenly distributed on a large patch - not a 1/16" area like the Steeda.

Maybe so...dunno...but it's performance, durability, construction and cost out weight the weight issue....

Orf - I do realize that. And I would usually give you a hard time right back, however I can't bring myself to do that.

I can't tell you how many times I thought about that barn the last couple of days and it really pisses me off. Showed both the wife and kids the photos of the barn before. Now I'm really glad I bought an Orfstock shirt with it on the back. A true collectors item.
