Yep, and every other 6.2 will be for a while too, there are no MODS.

Hennessey has a turbo kit out for it that runs 10k and only puts out 6 psi. It sounds almost worth it. I'm waiting on Hellion to make a kit. You know cheaper better quality and more performance.

Odd dip in the Tq and HP at 5200. Curves come up rather slow for such a high 3800 rpm start to that pull ...and it's nosed-over by 5700. Less than 1900 rpm peak-to-peak power band with a big dip in the middle? :doh2:

Seems like the tune is just not right and/or the turbos are not matched well to this application or ...typical Hennessey?

I talked to Hellion today and they said they didn't have plans for a kit but if enough people showed interest they would consider it. I really hope Hellion comes up with something down the road. So if you have a Raptor and are interested in putting turbo on it start emailing/calling Hellion.

I'll wait for an SC version of the Raptor to come out. I think a SC is better and I don't like the sound of the turbo. Can you imagine how hot that engine is going to run with those intercoolers sitting in front of the radiator? You will definately need to upgrade that radiator for additional cooling.

I like both but I'd rather have a turbo that a supercharger. I don't like Hennessey's set up thats why I'm hoping Hellion comes out with something.

Superchargers are available now but only for the 5.4. Someone posted a vid of a White SC 5.4 Raptor a while ago, it sounded great went like He L L.

Remember the "777" 7.0L experimental version of the 6.2 in the ROush/Bowles yellow mule summer of 2008? I found an interview video with Jack Roush and Don Bowles (http://www.powertvonline.com/video_detail.php?mId=771) that I'd never seen before (they eventually got to run 8.80 and solid mid+150s with that motor).

Wonder if Hellion is aware that L&M's TBs are fully engineered for push/turbo applications with no mods whatsoever to the TB. If anyone builds a 6.2 intake in the twin format I bet L&M has a TB that can support whatever boost/HP they can push through it with a turbo or turbos :weg: ;-)

I think the 6.2 uses a round/single but I wonder if Hellion would be more inclined to do a 6.2TT kit if they knew super-capacity push-compatible twin-format TBs are already available? L&M site link (http://www.landm-airflow.com/).

The 13 second quarter mile times of my old Lightning obviously tainted that expectation some. I guess we have to realize this is a heavy truck and that the performance is great for a truck in this bulk.

For now my fever to have one is broke. Time to refurb the old Lightning and consider a new diesel.

If you want a Raptor, I would wait a year. You know SVT is, they introduce with a small 5.4 engine, then go to a 6.2. What is left on the horizon for SVT to boost performance? Is there possibly some additional HP for them to get out these by adding something?

Yeah... you're L is tiny compared to the Raptor. 2 vs. 4 door. Short bed. Aerodynamic vs. big and beefy. Street tires vs. the off-road mudders.

I'm just a hi-helix roots-type bigot -lol- ...why carry the overhead of twinscrew case-compression when 95% of cruising you're not 'in' the SC. But the 4.0 Whip has something that the 3.1 TVS doesn't have ...it exists! -lol ;-)

I saw two Black raptor driving around town today. One I haven't seen before he has F22 on Iowa plates. I had a layoff request approved for 1201 last night so one minute after midnight because sunday wasn't available to take off. So what happens I get called to goto work at 1130 last night. I was on a very high paying and easy job. I was only on the train for about 2 hours got paid $650 for it. Problem was i road in a Van for almost 6 hours. I got back to the depot this morning at 630 clocked out and hurried down to the bus stop well i missed the bus by about 10 mins. My droid was in my had and it got thrown into a brick wall. So no pics of the two black Raptors i saw today. Good new is I got to buy a new phone tonight and the next bus is on Wednesday.
