Saw this on TS recently - Ford sells a locking gas cap for their capless fuel filler: Ford P/N 8U5Z-9C268-B

Picked one up today at the dealership for $24.99, but you can find them for a few dollars cheaper online.

I'm just worried about sand/debris working its way into the fill area and then falling on into the tank when the fuel nozzle is inserted at the pump. Probably nothing to worry about, but hey, it's cheap peace of mind.

It came with two small keys, so I just put one on each key chain for the car. That way I'll always have a key handy at the pump.

Edit: Here's a pic of the lock installed on the car:

I might have to think about one for the Raptor. Doe they come without a lock? I don't really want one that locks.

I thought the outer cap piece came off those so you can put a regular cap on it?

Our S H O has the same thing.

I wouldn't want a lock on it...pain in the butt.

I dunno if they come without a lock.

I played with locking and unlocking the cap, it didn't seem like a hassle to me. The key stays in the cap when it's unlocked, so you just insert the key, twist the lock and remove the cap. Reverse the process to put it back on after fueling.

I don't want to remember to have a gas cap key. Sometimes I let it run while fueling up. I know you are not suppposed to do that but havinng to use a key is a PITA.

I usually don't even turn the car off, especially when it's hot and I like the A/C.

So I'd have to have the key separate.

And don't tell me about turning the car off when fueling, I think that is silly.
