I've actually noticed this, but attributed it to road contour. Time to get it looked at....:doh2:

I'm also having an issue with my brake resevoir cap leaking. I guess I'll have them fix this too while they have it at the dealer.

Thanks for the info. :wtg:

the cap is a known issue...take a thin piece of cardboard...much like craft board, cut to size, and stick it under the rubber boot in the cap (between cap & boot)...problem solved...

I had the same issue, used a piece cut from a used Fed Ex envelope, problem solved.

Sent Ford an invoice for my Labour, still waiting for $$. :bigguy:

I think Grabber managed to find a store-bought neoprene(?) washer that's the exact right size, if I'm recalling right. Maybe he can post up the info when he sees this.

Good to see Ford got on top of this quickly with a recalibation ...the advantage of EPAS!

NOPE. That's what the dealer is for, to fix issues like a leaking cap. If they don't fix it the first time, they will get sick of seeing me until they do. :trouble:

I talked to my buddy who is the service manager and he says they have a cap that will fix the issue. If not maybe I will fix it myself, but he seemed to think the cap he ordered would fix the problem. We shall see.

http://www.snowandmud.com/forum/images/smilies/smilieicon_ford.gif should have done a TSB on the faulty cap and replaced them, instead they left it to the owners to constantly clean up the damm mess on and around the reservoir until they fixed the cap themselves.

This is a Ford FAIL.

My Ranger does this too. My old Taurus does is. My Friend's newer Taurus does it. Not saying it's ok for it to do this but the best solution I've seen is just dropping the level in the reservoir about 3/16" and putting a new full mark there. No more seepage. But, yeah, it just shouldn't be the way it is. My solution of dropping th elevel is suboptimal since it exposes more fluid surface area to air. Imo the reservoir just needs a taller neck to allow for fluid expansion and a better cap/vent arrangement that doesn't seep under cause seepage under hard cornering. But I doubt we'll see that anytime soon as a retrofit.

A vented cap would make a lot of sense...

I have always kept the fluid down a little bit below the fill neck and have never had issues.

No need for it to be filled all the way up anyhow.

Actually I think it is ...if you look at the neck and the engineered insert in the cap ...but dunno.

i know...never filled to the neck..always kept it lower...i just did that minor mod back in the early days of the 07, but since just keep it at a lower level.

My steering wheel is off a bit to the left, so I've made an appointment to have that fixed this coming Friday. I showed them the TSB and asked them to perform it at the same time.

Hopefully having the front end alignment done will get the steering wheel centered and will eliminate the slight drift to the left. The TSB will just be icing on the cake.

Thanks for the info!

Would love to know more about the actual EPAS calibration and what the TSB recal actually changes ...something we will likely not be privy to anytime soon.

that would be nice for sure. did the TSB yesterday. Drove it to my brothers house and back last night. total of about 80 miles. Drove straight as an arrow..no more drifting or pulls during braking. they also troubleshot the pass airbag light...seem to think the main harness is bad as power readings were not where they should be. new harness should be in tomorrow...

Just got a call from the dealership. The left toe was way out, but has been aligned and everything is in spec now. The TSB was done as well.

Picking it up in an hour or so, looking forward to driving it without the pull to the left.
