Seems email notifications aren't working?
I only had two individual thread subscriptions but no e-mails received for new posts since yesterday.
So I now turned it on in my profile so it will generate a subscription whenever I post in any new thread. Possibly that will work. Good test in any event.
This place is starting to look pretty awesome!

I added about a half-dozen more explicit email subscriptions last night in addition to having set my profile default to automatic (for threads posted in), but no notifications in my email today.
Snoop, when you signed me up did you provide my email address in the registration process or could that have been bypassed? That would do it.
Anyone else have email notifications turned on and getting them?

I hadn't added it myself -- I assumed it was required when TG signed me up, but dunno. I just processed an email address 'update' (since you can't see the present one), so let's see if that works. At least if you're getting them then we know the facility is working. ...thanks Joker. I'll let you know if that does the trick.

That did it -- they're working. Thanks, Joker! :tiphat2:
The email from field shows as "Forums" so that default V-bulletin field should likely be edited to something like "StangsUnited Forums." TS shows "Team Shelby" and SM shows "Stang Mafia Forums" Hopefully that's easy to change?

I looked in your profile & in the areas referring to e-mail notifications, you have 'Instant email notification' selected for all of them.
Looks like you're going to have to go above my paygrade to TG.

I'm still not getting email notifications. I think I have everything turned on. Can someone give me a step by step to double check my settings?
Alan, try this: in the upper right corner of this page click "settings." Then on that page in the left hand column under MY PROFILE click "edit profile." On that page, click "email & password" (top gray box), then enter you password (but don't change it below) and enter your email address in the two boxes (as if you're updating it). Then "save changes" at lower right.
Given what JD said about your settings, if you do that it should work (took overnight for me to start getting notifications). The notification will be under the sender name: "Forums" (until it's updated to StangsUnited Forums or such). See if that does it -- worked for me.
One other thing: when you click the link to here in your emails (once you get them) you'll get a Windows "message from webpage" warning that the address of this webpage is in a non-standard format so use caution might have a virus, etc. Not to worry. I suspect that message will go away when the address is finally changed from "...67.222.8.137/~stangsun/..." to "...Stangsunited.com/..." when we go live.
Joker/CobraDrifter: is my supposition in last sentence above correct?

Yes. Right now it's a weird address because the forums aren't really open for business and it's the only way to keep it that way for the time being.

I'm not sure how to do that. If your talking about the spam folder in my email, its empty. FYI I don't have any problem getting email notifications from Team Shelby or Stang Mafia.

Niether do I, but with this address not being a name and mostely numbers the spam filter gets it. Which provider are you with for your email? It's set in your profile right?

Have you gone to www.comcast.net , logged in there and checked the online spam filter? That's where all of my spam was and I had to mark it as not spam.

Alan, when you start getting notifications (it took overnight for me after setting email address per post #21) they will wind up in your email 'spam' folder initially. If you select them all and then click "not spam" (not sure how Comcast will show it) they should go to your inbox in the future. Of course this assumes you start getting the notifications -lol. Did you try updating your email address per post #21?

I replied. The one you sent me was in my spam filter on comcast.net. It's the way the address is set up right now and comcast. I just added forums as a contact and emptied my spam filter by marking them as not spam. I'll find out if that stops them from putting it in the spam filter now.

Nothing in the spam filter or email. Maybe it will reset itself over night like 68fastback. I'm going to bed now. Good Night all

You need to set the spam filter to allow the address. It's pretty easy. Just add a new filter and make sure the address is included.
I found out that by just clicking "not spam" doesn't slove the problem. that just puts them back in the inbox. New messages are still spam unless you use the filter and add them.
