Passenger Airbag Light

Seems the harness gets anchored under the seat in the wrong position. When so, any movement back on the seat stretches the harness to the point of separation at the connectors. The harness gets repositioned in the "correct" mounting hole, new connectors installed and tested.

This was the second issue the car had. Interesting that an 09 TSB still is in effect for it. No matter. Light is gone. So now there's two documented TSB's on the car. :doh2:

For the RECORD...the part failed only b/c it was installed INCORRECTLY....the REAL failure however, is that FORD hasnt figured it out yet at assembly in 3 years...this TSB pretty much covers all their cars for some reason...

I'll need to have this one done as well. Saw the light turning on and off as my wife moved around in the seat this past weekend. The 09 was the same way too.

Thanks!

When I have my laptop on the pass seat the light goes on. Whats up with that. Is it part of this possibly?

...maybe it's thinking someone very small is on the the seat -- smaller than the airbag can adjust for ...something like that?

Thats somethinhg like what I was thinking. Whouldnt it also take into account that the seat bealt was not connected for the passenger?

IRC the air bag turns off if the weight is less than 70 lbs for child safety. The light will come on to let you know.
