Pretty amazing! Who'd a thunk Ford would actually ever do this?! There's been a huge outcry for an American Rally Series that's affordable and this car will be competitive right from the start, according to Ford. M-Sport has been Ford's professional rally partner since 1997. Team O’Neil Motorsports is the official reseller and authorized installer for the R2 kits and only cars prepared by Team O’Neil will be eligible for the U.S. Fiesta Sport Trophy Championship. However, this package appears to be a street-legal too ...this 2500# sub-c pocket-rocket has to be a real kick.

So did anyone see a cost for this "option"?

I didn't ..I suspect they want you use the Team O'Neil email addy in the media release to inquire.

Yeah looking at the components that were lying on the floor around the car tells me this will not be a cheap "option" but if you plan on purposely running the car in that category then probably worth it. Just to do it for fun, well probably be better off to get a new 5.0 and mod it.

True ...and RWD is more fun than FWD anyway, I think. I guess they can't offer the *full* WRC M-Sport Rally package ...650HP, AWD, about $140K ...I can dream -lol.

It also wasn't clear if all those pieces will become available thru FRPP too. I would think that's where Ford will want most young enthusiasts who will buy Fiestas and want to mod them will turn ...aside from the R2 spec package. Maybe the stage-1 pieces will be thru FRPP ...Ford seemed unusually vague on this in the media release ...maybe that was intentional at this point for some reason.
