Deer 1
Bird 0

Yep.....the Raptor survived one deer without a mark but the deer was a goner. Later that week while going to the city, I got a good sized bird and the Raptor survived without a mark. Today, my wife takes the Raptor to work because of the threat of ice, she hits a deer. It damaged the piece below the headlights where the side clearance lights are mounted and bent the bumper a little. I don't have any pictures because I am in Phoenix right now. I'll take some pictures after I get home. Good thing my wifes cousin owns a body shop.

Well you know, I told my wife the same thing as I am going to tell others here and she is sick about it. **** happens, it can't be perfect all the time. I am just glad it happened to the Raptor and not her car. Her Fusion would probably have been totaled or close to it if she was driving it.

Not fixed yet, I am waiting for the parts to come in. The insurance finally gave the go ahead. They thought the quote was too high so they sent an adjuster to look at it. The adjuster found a couple of brackets bent and added it to the total. I guess they thought it was a regular F-150 and not the Raptor to lead them to the quote being too high at first.

I went to visit the Raptor today. The front bumper and filler was off as well as the headlights and the passenger rear door. They found where the first deer hit and made a dent in the bottom of the door. The insurance adjuster went back out to look at it again because the dent in the door wasn't noticed before. The paint for this truck is real expensive and the insurance said it was too much for the paint. I am sure it will all work out once the adjuster does his write-up.

Update on the Raptor........I finally have it back. I am sure that it looks good but it was dark when I got it back. I got home delivery service since the body shop guy lives up the road from me. I know the decal on the passenger rear door is not on because of the repair. He wants the paint to breath a couple of weeks before he puts it on. He said that the paint and decal will become one because the paint isn't cured yet. I asked him about how they did it at the factory and he explained that they can bake the paint at a much higher temperature than he can and it cured it much faster. The total cost was $4500 worth of work.

Thanks Mikey.........

Well, I escaped the hail damage. It doesn't look like there is any damage to any of the vehicles. Hermann had up to about 4 inches of hail. They had to call out the snow plows. :doh2:

The light bar may look nice but will it stop a deer. I think not

it might stop it the wrong way ...like "a deer in the headlights!" -lol

I do like those lights tho -- much better than the LED light bar, I think.

As we have all witnessed, it will not stop a deer when it hits the truck on the corners. If the truck hit it straight on, then I would have had deer guts all over the place.

I'm going to get one of these it should help out with the deer problem.

It will be more like when I'm on the train. You just hear a small bang and just keep going.

I like pretty much everything ADD comes out with but that is my favorite so far.

Why is it that most of these aftermarket companies that are doing Raptor stuff are raping us? It seems like all the products you see from those companies, they are so darn expensive. I realize this is a truck and it takes heavier metal and more welding but it just seems to be so expensive.

I think part of it is that it is all custom hand made. The lights are what kill me.
