it took one SA member over a year to have one buit before the announcement :waiting2:
LAS VEGAS – Jan. 31, 2011 – Within 48 hours of the official introduction of the 50th Anniversary Shelby Cobra Street Car by Shelby American (http://www.shelbyamerican.com/), a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc., (CSBI.PK), all 50 cars were purchased by consumers and Shelby dealers (http://shelbyamerican.com/dealers.asp?type=cobra). The Anniversary Shelby Cobra was unveiled to journalists during the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011. The entire run of cars was snapped up when the announcement was made public in an official news release.

The limited edition street Cobras will all be painted “Shelby black” with a rich wine colored leather interior, special 50th Anniversary badges, wire wheels, Wilton Wool carpeting, modern brake discs and a stronger frame. MSRP for the 50th Anniversary Shelby Cobra starts at $69,995 for a fiberglass or $134,995 for an aluminum bodied car, without drive train

Does anyone know if yhose aluminun bodies are made by shelby or are they Kirkman?. I also would like to know how to get in touch with Kirkman are they still in business?

If you read clearly you will notice that they said all of the units sold out to private owners and dealers... hense most of them went to dealers who think they can get that nasty "ADM" again on these :yellowcard3:

I'm amazed SA has not stopped them from manufacturing the car. Seeing Superformance are the only Shelby Licensed co.

There are a number of "unlicensed" companies out there that make a Cobra like roadster. One of the most prolific is Factory Five, they just can't call it a Shelby or Cobra.

correct...and are the only ones....LD and i looked into them when we were researching for her kit....they come assembled minus the eng and tranny, which we didnt want, we want to build it from ground up. Factory Five was another, but she didnt like the fact they use used donor parts. We picked Hurricane Motorsports. Even though donor parts, their new and not used...:grin:
