We usually don't need to look far for newsworthy stories, but when it came to the 2011 Mustang, the phone seemed to ring almost daily with stories of someone raising the performance bar another notch. Seemingly before the 2011 Mustang GTs began to surface in dealer lots and at racetracks across the country, rumors of how much horsepower the TiVCT 5.0-liter-powered Ponies made began popping up all over the Internet. When MM&FF finally got its hands on a test vehicle and blasted out quarter-mile times in the low 12.30-range with nothing other than a rear tire swap, we knew these claims (http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/events/mmfp_1102_ford_2001_five_liter_shootout/index.html#) were more than mere rumors.

That was agood article.

This month's (April) MM&FF has a good article on a 5.0 testing with Rich Groh designed JPC Racing's CNC-ported heads ($1,495). Saw +22rw at peak (446rw) but +40 at 7400rpm.

While not an apples-to-apples comparo, Ford's CNC heads on the BOSS also see big gains on top and I see Ford Racing is already offering the BOSS 302R CNC heads (http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=12557)...$1,499 a pop!
