Are signature contents static? Most forums have a live signature - it's displayed from the profile as it is currently.
My first post was done without anything in the sig and it was empty. Now I put some stuff in it but old posts don't get updated.
Is this a forum option?
I have no strong feeling either way.

Since we are on Sigs, the pic I uploaded is no longer there. I also went in to edit my sig and it now tells me there is an error and only 150 char max. Just saying.

I suspect this is related to sig size and pictures.
What about live?

Correct, your limited as only a registered member. Not sure what you mean about "live".

Did you become a paid member? It's a requirement. Probably had it before cause settings changed a bit when we went live.

When I first logged on I set up my sig. I read the info but it let me upload the pic and add to my sig. I don't believe the pic ever showed up but when I logged in after being off for a while the " " started showing up in my sig. I wanted to just take that out and wait till my paid membership was updated. When I tried to edit that out I now get an error that the sig can only be 150 char which is what I should have had I guess.

By live I mean that if I set my sig to "Say Hi to Freddy Mac" and post, it will show "Say Hi To Freddy" in the sig area. Then if I change it to "Say Hi to Fannie Mae" the post will show "Say Hi to Fannie Mae". It looks like sig is embedded into the post whereas on other forums it's built on every view so tracks changes "live".

apparently it's 150 characters for registered and 1000 characters for paid member. However those numbers include all control font/style/control characters too.
Strange thing happened to me. I deleted a quote in my sig that was three lines long and replaced it with a one line quote -- got a message that the limit is 1000 characters :headscratch: So I wound up having to eliminate a couple of additional lines of text to get the 1000-character message to go away. Strange how that could happen. Also, I didn't count, but my sig doesn't look like it's near 1000 characters.
As folks post up their mods lists in the sig we might have to bump it toat least 2000 characters for paid members maybe? We should not be concerned about making it bigger: text takes almost no storage space and sigs are only stored once then displayed many times. If we had 1000 members and doubled the sig characters from 1000 to 2000 it would only be the equivalent (for the whole site!) of the additional storage of one single 1M pic.
