I may be needing to store my stock rims and tires at some point. How do those of you with extra wheel sets store them?

Been looking at this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045EQ02O/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I'm not sure I can find a spot in my garage where I can have a rack sticking out 3 feet though, and the ceiling isn't high enough for me to mount it above head height (I'm not entirely sure I could get the rims in and out of an overhead rack anyway).

Anyone aware of alternatives?

P.S. If you follow the link look closely at the pics of the unit with tires loaded on it. Anything familiar?

I built some overhead storage platforms in my Garage, my stockers are up there on the left hand side.

At least you know they will store the Shelby wheels on them. I have a set of Mustang GT wheels in the attic of my shed. I stacked them on their sides. No issues that I can think of that way.

What is the height of the storage area and how high is your garage ceiling?

I bet that was a PITA to get up there.

That's what it looks like I'll end up doing. I thought you weren't supposed to store wheels and tires that way though. Did you stack them 4 high? Did you put anything between them or just stack them on top of each other?

Yes I have mine stacked 4 high with nothing between them. I guess I'll have to go out and put them in stacks of two. I found a link for proper tire storage.

The storage where the tires are is 32" high.

The garage ceiling is 11 feet.

I like the looks of the rack in your link, My understanding it is not good to stack tires on their side for extended periods of time.

This has been discussed here somewhere.
