Sometime during this weekend a software update is planned for the site. During this time frame you will not be able to access the site. This is normal stuff and just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

They planned it for this weekend since TG is at Virginia International Raceway and site traffic will be exceptionally low.

I had to look up what that meant. At first I thought it had something to do with MC.

Okay I'm done for the night. Site is updated to the latest version of vBulletin and many other features are upgraded in relation to the add-ons we have.

I have some stuff to add back like the custom icons etc.

I also now have "reply all" working in PM's. At least it looked like it worked when I was testing it.

I know there has to be stuff to get fixed but it's 4:30 here and WAY past my bedtime.

If someone wants to start a list of stuff that needs to be looked at, I'll get to it when I can.

I got about 5 hours of sleep and then had a wedding to go to. Just got home and I'll try and get some stuff done tomorrow but I also have some other stuff that has to get done.

Forums are upgraded and back up. Running the most current version of Vbulletin. May have some small issues that I will have to look at but I wanted to open them back up for everyone ASAP.

Enjoy and let me know if you find something that needs to be fixed.

Thanks.

ok, new post and edit controls are back...

Oooo ... a new look! Cool! Thanks, Robert!!
...ok, that explains why it was down before
ooops, now the new look is gone and there are no editing controls in edit mode ...and it won't let me go into advanced mode -- click on "go advanced" does nothing except change background of edit area to white, then if I click in the edit pane it turns back to blue and I can type, but there are no edit controls (e.g. bold, italic, underscore, links, attachments, etc ...zilch) ..just the edit pane.
I'm going to try logging out and back in.
ok, it won't let me "save" either. If I "cancel" it will lose what I typed, so I'll capture the above and past into a new post...

68fastback

ok, "save" "go advanced" and "cancel" don't work for me when editing an exiting post and edit controls only exist in a new post (not edit mode)

Joker
08-07-2011, 03:20 AM
Yea my advanced edit isn't working either. Not sure what's going on with this.

Edit: Tried something

68fastback

What! So far all the edit boxes are working for me.
...just logged out, cleared cookies, logged back in.

Tried to edit existing post above yours ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ...no edit controls and can't exit it with any button ...have to close the window or start a new post)

But this new post (captioning yours above) works and has edit controls (with the new look). Strange. If it matters I'm on Vista w/ IE9 with all maintenance applied but worked fine before the VB update.

I also notice a yellow "auto saved" lights in lower right occasionally -- cool!

[edit:]
...just tried to edit this post which was the first post after logging out, clearing cookies, and logging back in) and I now see edit controls. Let me see if I can save it now

Worked!

[edit:]
...just tried to edit the prior posts (that I couldn't before) and they have edit controls and now work! Ok, so folks may have to log-out and log-in for things to work right ...or it was a fluke of some sort.

Okay, Works now Dan. We had a conflict that I resolved. One of the prior programs that I had to add because VB didn't have it, is now added in this version and it seems it was conflicting with each other.

:tiphat: Thanks Dan. Just glad it was an easy fix that I thought of right off the bat.

So far I'm like the way this version looks. The only thing I don't like is that you have to go to advanced to get all the smiles.

The only thing I don't like is that you have to go to advanced to get all the smiles.

Yeah... NO smilies show up unless you click the "Go Advanced" button. You also can't attach anything (using the "Manage Attachments" function) unless you click Go Advanced.

I don't like it. :trouble:

Smiles are there...just click on the icon and a box opens up.....:yikes:

But I'd not see all the smilies......:redcard3: unless you go advanced

+1 ...but nice that they now load in one refresh (used to take about 8 or so).

I see that... but it's one more step.

I prefer that the default when you "Reply" or "Reply with quote" is the Advanced screen vs. the "Quick reply" screen.

Just my opinion...

If you DOUBLE CLICK the reply button instead of the reply to thread button it works.

Just a pain getting use to, I like the one click like before.

Ah the price of progress.

Biggest thing is that all the reply and pm boxes look different. This version seems to be alittle snappier but don't worry. In the next few months there will be a new version out!
