I'm sure it does , I would not be coating that rear cover IMO

In fact too bad it doesn't have "cooling fins" on it.......:shades:

What do you think about using the 2011 OEM SVT one?

It's aluminum and has lots of fins.

...cooling fins :wtg:

btw, ceramic coating reduces heat transfer (used on headers to keep heat in for several reasons); dark flat coatings (like flat black paint or black anozided alloy) increase heat transfer. Both can be good or bad depending on the intent/usage.

It would work very well especially for dissapating excessive heat but may not offer the same added strength you were looking for in the FRPP cover.

My axle vent is piped into an overflow/expansion tank located above the axle for the occasional on track excursions... (like on the KR's except my own version)

My point was he'll end up with two vents if using the 11 cover

...are you supposed to plug the one in the axle when you add a vented cover and can? ...thought I read that somewhere (maybe not -lol).

You use the one in the axle for the can....there's only one in the axle that I'm aware of. The 11's don't have one in the axle, it's incorporated in the pinion cover now.

...right, so if you add the '11/vented cover to, say, an '07-10, you should plug the vent in the axle and use the one in the cover, I think, whether vented directly or to a can (as George did). At least that's what I was thinking would make sense.

Cool...

My vent leaked bad before I put the can in...

Thats why I installed a vent expansion tank on mine, I had some oil residue around the oem vent ...
