I got something very special in the mail!! Thank you Kurt, it really means a lot to me!!

I don't think I could risk having it come off or get peeled off my truck, so it went on my fridge where I will see it every day as a reminder about those who make the sacrifices for our freedoms!!

http://www.onecrazydog.com/pictures/albums/Shelby_Mods/P1020020.JPG

I also just watched a show about Northrop Grumman, where they built a mock German stealth airwing Jet... Too cool!!

Got tired of paying towing companies to haul our scissor lift to job sites, it's about 125 bucks each way... So I picked out a trailer that will haul it, a car or small skid steer...

It's a PJ from the USA and we are getting it locally from a client to does business with us...

Yeah, the Shelby will fit, barely... We needed the tilt deck for our lift, it has low clearance and to dangerous to try and take up ramps imo... This is a safer route to go...

Don't know how'd you'd open the door to get out once you got the Shelby on.

Have to do a window exit, but then how would you get the window back up?

Maybe it is wider than in the pic?

Really :goodpost:

Hope they can maintain their comeback this time!

One of the best sounding Motorized Vehicles ever was this: http://www.ricksvintagebikes.com/1971%20Norton%20Commabdo%207501.jpg

When I was a little kid an older teenager had one in my community and he was a Rock Star to us with this ride.

Love the vintage Norton's ...the 1962 Norton Atlas 750 was pretty cool in its day ;-) Norton was first bike I ever rode and was like a hot-rod in its day (I've only ever ridden a couple bikes tho)

There was 961SE not too long ago, but it sold out instantly I think ...something like $26K (current USD) when released.

[edit:] found show vid of when it was intro'd in 2009 (MY'10):

I guess we're hijacking Dog's thread right now but he probably won't care as it will be another week or so before he gets more pictures of the car up. Yeah, I'm stoked about Norton's comeback. I really am jonesing for that 961 Cafe' Racer, just not sure I like the projected $22,000 USD price tag.:doh2: I could get two Triumph's for that.

I need to get some tie downs for the car... I will have to trailer it home next week, no way I can drive it yet...

If the Working Load Limit is 1,666lbs per tie down, would one would multiply that by the number of straps used to come up with the total weight to hold the car? 4 tie downs = 6664lbs holding strength? Or does each tie down have to be rated at like 5000 lbs?

I have chains and boomers to hold our lift down but I am not using them on the Shelby!! :doh2:

Simply wrap the adjustable strap end around the vehicle axle, snap it onto the triangle, attach the other end to your bed and then ratchet down tight.
Assembly Breaking Strength: 5,000lbs (2,272kgs) Working Load Limit: 1,666lbs (754kgs)

Canadian tire here has these in stock... They also have axle straps that work with them...

http://p0.flyerland.ca/images/products/5425000/5425209_image.jpg

• Heavy-duty ratchet
• 6,000 lb. break strength
• For loads up to 2,721 lb.

You might want to consider getting tie-downs that have a working load of at least 4 times the actual weight that they will be supporting (4000 lbs per?). This will help take into account panic stops. More is better, but there will be an associated cost increase too. You will also need to make sure that your chains or straps have at least the same rating as your tie-downs do. Depending how you have the car tied down, probably only 2 of the tie downs (the rear ones) on the trailer will be taking the load of the entire car in a panic stop.

That is exactly what I was looking for!!

Quote from Chris's website,

"Our aluminum mufflers have a unique sound. The tone is low, and doesn't rasp at high-rpm. The mufflers actually muffle the exhaust (to your tastes) and can save a substantial amount of weight in the process. Ceramic packing material ensures lifelong performance and quality sound, while our CNC billet end caps ensure longevity under the harshest conditions, and a unique look.
A typical 3" inlet/outlet muffler with a 6" OD weighs less than 7 lbs."

My chrome ones are the same way, the imperfections in the aluminum show through in the chrome. I need an Apocalypse NOW Redux http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/32/Apocalypse_Now_Redux_Soundtrack.jpg/220px-Apocalypse_Now_Redux_Soundtrack.jpgon my mine too.

The problem with the stockers is that they are just run of the mill aluminum but FORD paints them and they look good as the paint fills in all the imperfections, when you strip the paint and powder coat or chrome them they show the Bollocks in the aluminum.

Is that kit incomplete?

It is being sold on ebay now.

Only thing needed is an extra u clip and bolt for the drivers side, the rest of the bracket holes line up with factory mounting points... Rather simple install, but I have a bangastang cover so I had to get threaded studs so I can attach one side of the bracket to the top hole for the headlight frame, and then attach the bangastang cover to that... A part for the rad works perfect so I ordered them from my Ford dealer... Will take a week to 10 days... :doh2: I also forgot to get torch red touch up paint for the edges of the holes I cut... :doh2:

I just saw your latest pics of the exhaust with the sound vids. Love the sound Stacy and I particularly like the 'v' flange clamps on the exhaust to headers. That is something I've been wanting to do to mine for a while now but I have to find someone that can weld the stainless steel for me. Your welder has done a masterful job with those welds.

I'm also still considering going with the BMR 'K' member but I want too get some more feed back on long term everyday use with it before I make that committment.

You car really look good Stacy...:wtg:....even though it's that slow color...:giggle:

The flange is now the best part of the headers!! They won't be leaking there!! My test for the K member and a arms will be to Shelbyfest!! I am going to get the alignment checked first though... When the alley ice ruts melt...

Looks like a good site for people to put in their favorites.

You should make a thread in the exterior tech section so people can find it.

I might get them anodized black after shelbyfest... Then get SVT machined in the top to match the exhaust tips...

Tonight I bolted the brackets down and adjusted the locks... Got the hood to shut and the locks to turn!! There is still a bit of play in the hood with the locks closed so there is no pressure on them... When the parts get here I can put the rad cover back on...

I will get Keith to check the locks at SF!!

Looks good Stacy but I dont know why you had to drill such a big hole under that bracket. I do perfer those locks to hood pins a much cleaner look.

I order to get the locking plate to sit flush you need to remove the dimpled rise on the top of the frame support. If you look at your car's support you will see how it rises up to hold the hood adjusters. Those have to be removed because that is where the hood locks go in place of.

That was the only size holesaw I had... Looked real good when I lined it up, then after I cut the hole I realized it was a bit big... :doh2:
