Anyone have a shop or contact that has or can make me a new replacement grill (upper and lower) out of billit aluminum? Looking for black and something similar to the new saleen or 5.0 grills.
I need this ASAP.
Thanks

How quick is ASAP. I have my guy in NC who built mine but it wasn't done ASAP. I can do a virtual introduction if you want....

What does the grill look like? I wanted one like the 11 MY 5.0 or Saleen black grills. Its about 9 back but meaty bars, not like those little billit grills.
I would say need it in my hands by mid september. 3 BIG shows from then until sema.

Here is a old pic of the Darkmobile, but the grill overlay can be done anyway you want.

Cervinis makes a replacement but its that 11 bar billit in black or silver. Too many bars for my taste.
I bought it last december but didnt like it even enough to try to install it. Sold it soon after

Very rarely did I give them a hard deadline on a project. I just dropped off the Darkmobile with a bag of cash and said "I'll be back in a few months"
Hopefully the "Wait for it" will not happen this time as Mike knows the timeline as CD needs his grill before SEMA.

I'm (mostly) just giving CD a hard time... but I do remember some of the last second firedrills you had with Mike and crew when you drove up to get the car and things weren't complete yet.
Hoping all goes smoothly for SEMA, CD. Will be cool to see what he comes up with.

I obviously have the wrong friends! I haven't bought the ducts is fear of drilling the grills so I'd go ahead and get them if I had a grill ready to accept them.

Ive been looking at pics but cant tell still if the height of our grills is taller then the height of the 11+ MY's.
I want the beefier bars and fewer count but if I do the 4 bars that the Saleens have then it may be too much a gap if the 07-09 grills are taller.
Inquiring minds want to know :D

I bought that very one but in black. I turned around and sold it without even installing it.
Its a piece of #$%#. Do not order it unless you want low quality and improper fitment.
There is a reason why they discounted the prince by 50%. None are selling because the few that do get bad reviews so not many others will buy it

Its not you that I am worried about and you would be powerless to prevent it if some else is doing the work. Once someone else is working with my ideas, it is very easy to be copied.
I will Email Mike again and ask about making more grills. I would like to see everyone who wants one to get one, assuming the price is right.
Mine was NOT cheap as I had the center mounted fog lights and radar/laser detector mounts built in with the custom laser cut mesh pattern.

Ok called and talked to Mike again a few minutes ago. Still on track to finish in time.
I need to buy and send him a set of JLT gril bezels so he can weld them on the lower grill. Guess I will do black anadized as the whole grill is to be powdercoated black anyways so no issue with coverage is I send him my silver ones.
Going to have him make the hose connections to the back of the grill bezels too so can be easily used for brake cooling ducts or fresh air. Im going with brake cooling ducts so I "could" just order it after sema and install the hoses later since they are not an issue and wont hold up the finished product.

Just talked to Mike and we havent got the grill welded yet. So Since the bezels are on yet I asked about the 3" FTBR brake cooling kit if we could duplicate a JLT bezel in 3" and he said yea but time is the issue if we do that or not.
Should have pics of the proposed layout tonight. Arg its gonna be cutting it very very close and arrive via air ship overnight and thats still cutting it super close as it still has to go to the powdercoaters before shipping.

Called again today and they are still in the midsts of mornig and nothing has progressed. :(
Said maybe in June. Now hes missed SEMA 2011 and the upcoming 5.0 Magazine open house on the 20th. Hope we dont miss SEMA 2012 :look:
CD - You need to hound Mike like he owes you money if you want it done on your timeline. Every time I dropped the car off, I told him when I would be back for it and he knew that not having it done on time would not be a good thing.
Call him every freaking day or tell him it has to be done by a specific date or you will get strung along until he feels like getting it done.

CD - I'd start looking for a different guy ASAP. Mike obviously does good work, but as DS has said many times his sense of urgency is not just lacking - it sounds like he's never had it to begin with.

True but I have given specific deadlines and they are still missed. I hate and dont want to hound someone that is helping me. He says its nearly done so not much point in trying to go with someone else and then have him want to charge me when he finishes his.
I think thiis year may be my last SEMA appearance with the Shelby. Need to get plans and money for the next stang :look:

If it is nearly done WTF Is the hold up?? BTW aren't you paying for this? If so he is not helping you.. He is doing work for you
It has been 6 months since SEMA and wasn't it nearly done then?
Seriously, You should tell him you want it by a specific day.. then start hounding him every day for a date of completion.

Being nice is not the issue. Mike is working for YOU. YOU need to act like the man who has hired Mike to make a product. Giving someone clear guidance and instructions is appreciated, not a bother.
Be the boss. Don't accept missed deadlines.

CD you may need to invest in some tools and do it yourself. Sometimes it's cheaper that way

Never even had to mention that to get my work done on time.
I may mention it next time as I will be taking it back to NC one last time this fall before some others things are set to possibly happen..........

Do you where the suite when you drop off the car and give them a demonstration on what a light saber can do?

Being in Raleigh, which isn't too far from Fort Bragg, Mike has a good appreciation for Special Operations troops (and the folks who support them ) can do.
No light saber needed.
