A guy in our local club just bought a 2012 California 5.0,now last week-end while having fun with it,doin a few "donuts...." he noticed that there's a little "whine" sound while light accelerations.Everything seems ok,shifting,acceleration(wot)...everything seems normal other than the little whine issue,would anyone have a clue what to look for??

Is it an Automatic or Stick?

I don't know what the CS's have.

true..loll. TG it is a manual 6 speed MT82.My other friend with the
starting problem(computer had freaked on him) on another thread,finally got his going,it was a dead battery + the clutch switch...

Where about is the noise?

Front of tranny?

Rear?

Engine?

sorry TG don't have that info.Just trying to help him on a thread he started on our french forum.He basically says the whine,about the same as when reversing at a good speed..that drivetrain whine you get...just less loud.I figure it more trans/diff(where the whine would be coming from)...MT82 6 speeds,any know if they have a weak link??Also trying to get some help from SVT guys.thx again

Hard to figure some noises out.


Here's another thought.....

Sometimes people forget when they try to do a burnout to turn off traction control. Then as they do the burnout, the car activates the brakes to try and counteract it.

Maybe he scored a brake pad to the point it's transferring some noise? Just another thought.
