We sold our 2003 F150SC after many years of great service. :wtg:

We ended up trading in the Taurus SHO :nonono: and picking up a new F150

We owed about $20,000 on the SHO and our new truck and 7 year/100,000 mile warranty came out the door at about $19,000. :yay:

We almost kept the SHO because we really liked the car, but we are looking at cutting down on expenses.

This would be one less personal property tax, one less insurance payment, one less maintenance cost etc. etc.

Since this will be our main vehicle now we got it loaded out. Everything but NAV.

Ecoboost V6, Supercrew, Sony Stereo, 4 WD, E-Locker, Tow Package, a/c & heated seats, etc.

Also picked up a camper shelled we had ordered and painted to match.

We may be getting the windows tinted just a touch, the factory tint just doesn't seem very dark and it would help w/ the leather interior.

I already have Herculiner to do the truck bed with. I did Herculiner in the last truck and it held up perfect for the almost 9 years we had it.

Also may put in a built in Detector , for when we are out of state of course. :shades:

I don't think so as Momma D couldn't do it with hers with the USB port on the Raptor. Just use an auto adapter in the cigarette lighter plug when you need to charge it.

Very nice truck Bill. Congrats on getting a good buy and deal on your trade.

I sold my 2009 F-150 yesterday to a guy at work. He bought it with out even seeing it in person. He's buying it for one of his workers. He did ask me if I would put his company door stickers on for him...so I said sure. The check cleared today and tomorrow evening he is going to pick up the truck. I got 15K for it. I paid 17K for it in July of 2009. I threw the money down on Tana's Shelby. Should have that baby paid off by the end of winter. Owe just under 10K on it.

The truck has 19,400 miles on it. Still like new. I put the stickers back in the window so the guy that is getting it could be surprised at the condition of the truck when he picks it up tomorrow night.

I am very curious to see how the ecoboost tows, I was at a dealer today with a friend who is toying with buying a boss 302 and the dealer drove us around the lot in an FX2 quadcab ecoboost and was telling me that you can now get an integrated brake controller on the F150's and the towing capacity is 11,000 lbs. If that is really true in the real world that darn near diesel territory but with better gas mileage.

My 08 did great towing the track car but it drinks gas as a daily commuter and the new ones sure are nice...

Congratulations TG the truck looks great. I know you'll be very happy with it. I love driving mine. This weekend I used it to move my son and daughter in-law's furniture etc from one apt to another. My son actually drove the EB while I used my extended E350 work van. He was amazed how smooth and comfortable it was and how much power it has.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences when you use it to tow next time.

BTW I love my navigation...:giggle:

Our's has 3:73 gears and the Max Tow Package and can pull 11,300 lbs while carrying up to 1960 lbs in the truck.

Our 2003 w/ the 5.4 could do that also and we never had an issue.

I'm just hoping the V6 holds well over time. We usually keep our trucks for a pretty long time.

We have used our Badboy/Badgirl TomTom w/ no issues and just don't see the need for the NAV.

We would rather have the 6-disc changer than it.

Now if they incorporate a 6-disc changer, a high quality Sony system and the NAV we may get that in 2021 when we buy our next truck.....and the thermal fusion generator upgrade. :shades:

Beleive it or not, Ford and the other OEMs are slowly abandoning 6-disc CD changes (starting with the cars most popular with younger drivers) -- because no one is using them ...plug-in MP3 players and (now) USB thumb drives are what everyone is using...

We've had the Fusion since last winter and have not used the 6-CD CD changer ...not even for 1 CD. If it had a USB I'd use a thumb drive instead of the SanDisc Fuze+ (which works great). Wish it had NAV so I dodn't have to jockey the GPS around, etc. I'd ditch the GPS even if I just had vanilla Sync (in stead of the full NAV) which gives you free turn-by-turn. 2009 Fusion had a Sync option on the Sport, but it was pretty bad compared to the current Sync.

...and we're relying on you to do good write-up :shades:

Actually, I have no idea but it has to work something like this: copy a bunch of ambums from your computer to the thumb/flash drive (you can go to Desktop > Music and just drag & drop whole folders -- whatever you want -- to the USB thumb drive. Stick it into the USB port in the car. Select that input on the stereo and check your owners manual for how to select/play the particular music you want ...usually it's fairly intuitive :shades:

Bill, read THIS (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4060) re iPad on the Apple site. iPad requires a charger capable of 10W (that's 2 amps at 5 volts USB) else may not charge. That's why I posted that link a while back to the Scosche reVIVE (http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-reVIVE-Dual-Charger-iPad/dp/B003N7NO4Q) power-port charger that provides two USB ports (a 1.0 amp and a 2.1 amp). The 2.1 amp USB port is the one to use for the iPad. If that charger you bought at BestBuy is really 2.0 amp and is working right, it should do fine, else the Scosche reVIVE is what is used by many iPad owners.

Also make sure you're using the Apple iPad USB power cord (not another that may also fit) because sometimes there's an inline 'balun' built into the cord that's engineered for the iPad -- dunno if yours has that or not.

Oh, ok ...that's becuase the actual USB specification is 0.5 amps, not 2.0 amps. There's nothing wrong with the USB in the truck. Apple's iPad does not conform to a standard USB's current specification ...that's why you need that other charger's 2 amp USB vs using your laptop's USB or the USB in the car dash/console. That's why Apple specifies a 10W supply -- they don't conform to the international specification for USB devices.

Sorry :( No excuse but we have been super busy with renovating the house and work and just trying to keep up with the BadKids ! by the time I sit down at night I usually look through a few posts and end up falling asleep with laptop open and on my lap . Once I post pictures of what BB has been working on with the house, I think you will understand why we end up falling asleep. I miss all my Stang United family also and I am trying to catch up on all the posts when I can.

Wise guy.

I spent 3hours today sanding down the bed of the new truck :surprised: and applying bedliner.

Looks awesome.

Has to dry overnight so I can check if I missed any spots.

It costs $100 for the do-it-yourself stuff and $500 for Rhino liner.

So it cost me three hours, but I saved a little chunk of money.

Because I'm cheap, ask Joe.

I did our last truck and it lasted 9 years w/ no damage.

My son helped sand it all down.

Coating it is a one man messy-as-heck job.

It should be reasonably dry and harder today and cured completely tomorrow.

I have a think mat that goes on the floor and I will have to start loading my track stuff in it so hope it is fully hardened.

Been trying to point it toward the sun during the day which really helped yesterday.

I also put on factory mudflaps and factory window visors yesterday.

That should be all for now. We have the track next weekend and possibly going to Florida the week after that.

We were going to go in November, but every weekend we have something going on in November. :nonono:

I think the weather down there is better in Nov. :banghead:

...probably a supplier.

I wish some aftermarket co made ones that really mold-fit like that for my Ranger. I looked for ages because I wanted to replace the flat ones the prior owner had stuck on and found some molded ones that at least work, but they're not molded to the body shape like those Ford ones.

Then again I have ripped one off (not easy to do) 4-wheelin' over rough terrain, so maybe the ones I have are fine :haha:
