Im thinking about redoing my door panel inserts but I want to know how much trouble it is to take the door panels off and how that center area comes off so it can be recovered in different material?
Any tips or suggestions etc?
Thanks

I've never had one of the door panels off, although usually the center pieces are glued and/or plastic riveted on.
If just going for a different color I would consider dying them, it will be tough re attaching them and making them stay over time without special expensive glues.

I believe the door panels are one piece and easily removed from the door frame. If I remember correctly I don't think the center section comes off, but I'm sure someone who does automotive upholstery would be able to do something with it.

The door panels are easy to get off. There is a screw at the door handle. It is covered with a piece of plastic. I am not sure about that center piece either but since it is different material than the rest of the door, I think it is an insert. I am just not certiain how they are attached to the panel.

I figure they must have some way they get the center part covered and tucked in so nice that it has to come off.
I got the leather already approved so its just waiting for it to come in and doing it myself or getting a shop to do it

I have the suede leather already and found a good local upholstery shop that can do it. Soon as I get the $ it will get done :)
