Wow. How did it handle altitude?
Well, no issues. Transmission could use an auxiliary cooler though. Lots of wide open throttle stuff.

That's not bad at all!
Probably about as good as I can expect.

I found out with the new Harley that one of the reasons they come with an always active GPS (No subscription required) is the computer will automatically adjust for elevation. It is accurate to the foot.

If it uses a modern MAF it should do it w/o GPS. No familiar w/ what engine mgmt they use.

So last weekend was the Route 66 run. Getting there involved twisty roads and uphill driving. I beat on the 66 keeping up with the Cobra group and it did quite well except the automatic transmission got a little warm and let me know it by shifting a little erratically. It was up against the converter a lot which creates a lot of heat. I slowed it down and didn’t hurt anything. Fluid still red and smelled fine.

In preparation for the next trip, I am installing an auxiliary cooler and gauge. The cooler is a Derale stacked plate unit rated at 34,000 BTU/hr and gauge is an Autometer to match my new tachometer.

Adding a pic to prove I made it. 28847

The new Holley injection worked well. Worst tank of gas was 14mpg and best was 21.8 with an average of 19 mpg for 550 plus miles. Elevation was from 1200 feet to 6500.

Those are the very best! My 460 (Quadravan) had a good sized Ford factory one of those for the C6 trans. They're a great design -- super low flow resistance.

Yeah, I’m not the collector type. Getting out and driving is a good therapeutic experience. Pushing it is a religious experience. :flex:

Winslow is a town where standing on the corner is about all there is to do.

"It's a girl my Lord in a flatbed Ford slowing down to take a look at me...."

There's a little park there now. And a statue of Glenn Frey "standin' on the corner".

The song was co-written by Jackson Browne and Frey. Both Browne and the Eagles perform the song in concerts.

His son is now performing with the Eagles. I haven't heard how he compares.

I watched a concert on TV last summer with his son and someone else filling it. They were quite good!

How about navy gray. I’m starting a “go fund me” account for hood painting.

;-) You know, Bruce, I don't know what it is but it just looks so good as it is. Why is that? Might look better all painted but somehow it looks so 'right' as it is too.

Update: The Holley Sniper continues to do well. I’ve been learning more about it all of time. While it is still shelf learning, want to be able to fine tune it without screwing it up. Also to trouble shoot any problems if the come, especially on the road. Also as I reported before, I upgraded my transmission controller to a Quick 4 which has diagnostic capabilities. It identified my digital manual level position sensor as being out of range. I think that is the cause of a few intermittent shifting quirks I have had lately. I’ve ordered a new Motorcraft one.
