View Full Version : CarMD Infomercial
Many times I've read post about out cars throwing a code and then all the questions start about what does this code mean and how to fix it etc.
I seen this on an infomercial about 3am last night and was wondering if anyone has used it or knows anything about it.
Just curious if something like this would be worth having.

not yet...wasnt home....:innocent:
just watched...neat....guess this could lead to alot of cost hagglin with shops if they charge more...
wonder how often the database is updated with new bulletins, cost analysis etc....and how it would be. probably via the computer link...
guess the diff with other scanners is having the tech data built into the chip. wonder if it pulls the freeze frames at time of code activation, mine does..
Sounds cool.

I'm not planning on buying it any time soon. I'm just trying to make people aware of it and get some feedback.

...wonder how much the pricing updates cost, etc.
It's just reading the OBD-II codes so it doesn't know the cause beyond the codes. Might be convenient rather than looking the code up in MC Operations Manual PDF but it's not going to be able to tell you anything different, just that they'll give you prices on what *could* be causing the problem bsed on what *could* casue the code, but it still takes carefull diagnosis by a tech for many codes to determine what's *actually* causing the code. Seems handy but nothing really new, I think, except they've integrated a lot of information (wich they likely will charge for to get updates). The price is not unreasonable so if you need a code reader it might be a decent choice, but don't know that all the gimcky features really add much value. Jmo.
