So I hear its possible to obtain the CAD specs on our cars but not sure how to go about it.
I need the specs to do some designing before cutting up the Shelby for new mods and SEMA

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ok well lets say some cutting and drilling as not cutting up for the junkyard lol

Specifically need the rear 1/2 of the body and suspension at a minimum. I think I may have enough info for the front already

CD ...check out this SEMA technology transfer link (http://www.sema.org/sema-enews/2010/09/get-jump-on-parts-development-2011-mustang) ...SEMA maintains a library of CAD files from the OEMs used in prior measuring sessions, etc. ...likely only available to members (dunno) but maybe they can help you somehow. Members@sema.org is their umbrella e-addy.

Are you changing the back end to be more retro looking???

I saw in a magazine a long couple of years ago where some company had re-done the backend of a S197 to resemble a '69 fastback. I thought it looked awesome and had it as an option to do myself but it never went beyond a prototype as far as I could tell.

I remember that one! Hips scoops and very slickly done ....hang on ...I think I saved the info somewhere... he was in Michigan I think...

[edit:] darn! just scanned thru a couple thou pics and can't find it ...I remember I had embedded his contact info in the pic data so if I find it I'll post it up.

Yeskinda along those lines for the rear. The suspension is not related but I need some specs for it to for the other phase of the project. Hopefully the front new fabbed parts will be ready by sema.
I am currently trying to become a member in sema but if it takes long I will ask my friend to ask his wife who used to work for sema

Not sure how long it takes to hear back from SEMA but more than a couple days?

..dunno ...I'd think they'd email back within 48 hours, but who knows. Did you use their site email (http://www.sema.org/customer-service-form)? The SEMA person who coordinates the member "measurement sessions" with the OEMs probably has the CAD contact in Ford you'd need. What about calling Ford directly (http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/ContactUsPage)?

I had called them before last year for my Feature Vehicle entry and they are located about 20 minutes from my home. Who knew.
I will try calling today. Time is running out
