We had our annual track night for our customers last night and had a great time. Over the winter I installed the Big Boost kit 550HP with a 3.25 pulley on the Whipple and Ford Racing sent me a 475HP tune for the car because its an automatic. I installed the kit and tune then the snow fell so the car sat. I finally tested the car yesterday and ran a 12.0 at 118mph with a 1.7 60ft. I did this with Mickey Thompson drag radials. Stock motor, trans, and 3.55 gears from Shelby. Im very happy with the outcome.

Good numbers and congrats. It seems like an automatic is the choice for drag racers since they shift quickly.

Thanks Greg. I really like the trans shift points and firmness. It seems like the rpm's hold during shifts instead of dropping kinda like a powershift but with an automatic. Ford Racing says thats normal and in the shift strategy to minimze heat. FRPP also claims the car should be good for a 11.60 ET. Their test mule runs 11.60 at 118mph at Milan Dragway.

The 11.60 can be achieved. You just need to be like their professional driver. Plus you may want to adjust your shift points to take a little time off. It is also in your reaction time. I see one run at .220 and the other run at .340 reaction time. Are you running a transbrake, stall converter or line locks or is it all footbrake?

No converter, trans brake, etc. I just press the peddle and go. Ford Racing claimed this was the best way to go. The stability control is not completely off even with the TCS button pressed. There is alot in the tune to prevent stupidity with the kit. I found this out by asking FRPP ALOT of questions regarding the "details" in the tune. R.T. doesnt effect ET. I need to remove the road race suspension and weight to do what they did. So I was told. Plus better air will help. Or I could just hire a jockey to drive my car because Ill never lose weight. LOL

I just wrote a nice reply and hit reply instead of post and lost it allbut anyway here isthe main points:
1. RT is the time from light going green to 1st movement
2. ET is 1st movement to end...the RT will not effect ET so you can sit there all day if you wantand then go and ET is still just when you start to when you finish
3. Many factorscan be worth those extra 10ths....conditions like air temp, humidity, elevation, track temp, wind speed/direction etc. as well as tight new belts, staying straight& in the groove, engine temp. etc.
Good runs and with seat time and condition changes you will break the 11.6 barrier I bet.

Now I learned a lesson in drag racing. Thanks for the info. I am sure you will eventually break into the mid 11's. Good job Steve......

Im sure better air will help. The DA was 1514ft. during the runs. I just got the video from our local Mustang club here it is. The video is long though. The Fusion Hybrid is my wife driving. The car ran 16.5 at 87mph. Pretty good for a Hybrid family car. LOL

Elaborating on Icemans points...
1- RT is the time from when the light turns green and when you cross the start line. TIP: Stage shallow, meaning roll in and just barly trip the second stage (amber) bulb. This will allow you to get a 4-6 inch jump on the time clock towards a better ET.
2- ET is the time from when you cross the start line to the time you cross the finish line

Thanks everyone. It is a fun ride. On a plus side it pulls down 22mpg on the highway and thats at 80-90mph going to Shelbyfest last month with a full trunk of bags and detail supplies. Not that I worry about fuel economy. I thought it would be worse. LOL
