Cool! NOS nozzle into each intake runner, Jim?

Love that you know exactly what you want to do :wtg:

RedNightmare
03-30-2012, 08:26 PM
thanks lol Over the years I planned it all out and im going to run one nozzle in one intake reason im not that big on the nos since ive seen alot of motors blow because of nos that why im only going with a 50 shot and I want that extra 50 horse power on that 1/4th lol

68fastback
03-31-2012, 04:28 AM
...yeah, nos can be tricky ...I'm not a big fan of it either. I was wondering because it might be hard to make sure the NOS is evernly distributed to all cylinders with one nozzle and it could be bad if some cylinders got a different share than others. Maybe your dad has a trick to address that tho ;-)

RedNightmare
03-31-2012, 02:26 PM
im sure lol I just want it cause I think it belongs with the purge

Hey guys I need an opinion since im a new driver. I want a 5speed but im nervous with the roll back when you take your foot off the clutch . But that being said Stick is still alot more fun to drive. But on the other hand an automatic is still faster on the 1/4 and I want my car to be a race ready so when I take it home from school on a friday I put the bogarts and the chute on the car and run 9s (one day) so which do you guys prefer??

RedNightmare
04-13-2012, 08:32 PM
auto and stick are same strength and can hold up to 450-500 hp thats good for me for the first couple years then ill work everything

RedNightmare

I like that CF, Jim.

Re trans, I think it comes down to what you like most about how you'll drive. For consistency at the track maybe the auto is a better choice but if you'll also enjoy driving some of the twisty back roads (are there any left in northern NJ -lol) then a stick might be more fun. With rev limiters these days you can't hurt the engine with a misjudged power-shift like you could in the old days, but for tracking and street use maybe an appropriately prepped auto that can operate normally and manually shifted might be nice dual-puspose set-up? Dunno what's available for the current automatics but I'd bet someone make a mod/controller for that.

RedNightmare

Thanks Dan, Im just a little nervous with the stick shift for the first car Im sure I would get the hang out it, and getting a fast response with the clutch and gas on hills. If I can find a automatic pistol grip for the stock tranny Im definately go with the automatic, because I dont really like the tci automatic shifter for these cars.

I like that CF too, looks fast with the red in it!! I agree with an automatic and high stall for the track...

If the hill issue was the only concern, you can certainly use the e-brake until you're more comfortable but, yeah, the auto will be lots of fun too.

Do you remember when NMRA did that gig with Steve Saleen at Atco about 5 years ago (to honor the fathers of NMRA FI/mass-air racing, your dad being one ) the guy who won was my age (or older) and was consistently popping-off .001-007 sec lights in the christmas-tree competition (your dad wasn't doing too shabby either) ...amazing! I think the best I got after a few attempts was .145 :rofl3: It's all practice.

I guess I'm saying that if you want a stick, don't let proficiency stop you -- it will come. If you want an auto for launch/consistency and simplicity, then do that. Can't go wrong either way, I think ;-)

RedNightmare
04-15-2012, 06:25 PM
That is true, I know if I praticed I will get to be able to drive stick, But I know whwn the car is faster if i got the stick I would put an automatic in it. I remeber the honorship at atco that was cool.

04-15-2012, 06:31 PM

Ya and if anything in the long run we got the stock 6 speed from the 07. Im talking my dad in putting an automatic in it so, I get the 6 speed with the better gears. LOL

RedNightmare
04-17-2012, 12:10 PM
Thanks Pat, My dad said either way is fine but if I can find/make a pistol grip for The stock automatic tranny I'll definitely go that route, and as time progresses, I'll build a 5.8 with a race automatic shifter. By the way I love your brembos and the fuse box cover. Your friends Shelby I saw it on svt I think, you guys do very tasteful mods and both your cars are clean!!!!! LOL

mustang loco
04-17-2012, 12:34 PM
Built 5.8 eh',nice, another futur beast in the family I guess. You've got great ideas on your own Jim,thx for the comments about our cars btw,my friend could probably make one f those shifters if enough demand would be in the market,I'll slip in a word..problem with cust. stuff is always cost related to demand for one off's..planning,programming...here's a thread where you'll see his car Jim if interested!!

here's an inside vid down the track 2yrs ago, with still the stock eaton on top,new plans for this car this yr,going back on the track..should be interesting!!

ML.......your friend's car looks great! And the explanation (later in the thread) on how to put a power seat in the passenger side of my 07 is just what I needed.....my wife dislikes riding in the shelby because the seat sits so low (plus she is short)...........seems like all I need to do is find a passenger base from a GT and run power and swap out the back, and bottom cushion and leather....not too bad at all.......thanks for the link

No problem KC,he'll be doing the same formy car this yr..he does great work imo for sure..Have a friend that just did some "shims" to bring his stockers higher as well, they had the same problem with the seats being to low!!

Np,can't promise you anything but will ask for sure Jim,or if you ever find anything that could be modded to fit, that could probably another alternative and probably cheaper too!!

9190 Finally found the finish I want in a real picture, and not asanti.com. I want a black lip chrome black face/ring chrome bolts, and centercap. 20" all around wrapped in nito tires with nito 55r drag radials on the rear. Im going to spray inside the quater panel with bedliner paint and put the 11-13 rug in it because im sure rocks will kick inside and that noise drives me insane, it sounds like it hits the paint.
