FORD WINS! Butner Takes Inaugural ADRL SuperCar Showdown VictoryPosted on April 4, 2012 (http://www.adrl.us/2012/04/ford-wins-butner-takes-inaugural-adrl-supercar-showdown-victory/) by Josh (http://www.adrl.us/author/josh/)
[/URL]Bo Butner and Ford Motorsports laid claim to the first trophy in the American Drag Racing League’s highly anticipated new SuperCar Showdown division at the season-opening CarSafe Dragpalooza VIII held at Royal Purple Raceway in Houston. Moreover, an all-Ford Mustang championship round pitting the top two qualifiers made for a clean sweep by Ford in the first drag racing category to feature the world’s quickest and fastest production automobiles in national competition.

More details on the purpose-built soon-to-be-available Chevy COPO Camaros ...69 will be made ...in Canada at Camaro plant. Delivery in Wixom MI -- $89K.

They will come in three flavors -- I'd guess the 2.9/4.0 are Whipples
:
=> LS7 NA 427/7.0L
=> SC LSX 327/5.3L with a 2.9
=> SC LSX 327/5.3L with a 4.0

Should make for some great heads-up racing!! Bring it on!! :banana:

I was reading that applications for this new SuperCar series far exceeded ADRL's expectations and include some imports as well as ZR1 vettes (which are very light), so this could get very interesting.

A special collector’s package offering the purchase of all three engines with the COPO Camaro – including one installed in the car at delivery – with each engine serial number matched to the car

:wow2:

That could be a pricey option! :spend:

....yeah, dunno what that adds ...it's like the Corvette help-build-your-engine deal ..the COPOs start at $89K but not clear to me folsk who are buying a race car will be interested in the help-build-it thing since it's not going to be their 'baby' as much as a 'weapon' -lol. Who knows?

The 2012 Mustang CJs ran from around $94 to $104 fully loaded w/ most expensive options ...dunno what the 2013 5.0 CJs will be ...possibly a bit less (dunno)?

Probably get what you pay for :lol:
