Got the oil changed in the sho. Cost $75 waiterd 2.5 houres for them to do that. Had a appointment at 8. Killing time because I had lots of it. I went looking around the lot. I found a new Taurus SDLT wirh the window down about 3 inches. You ask why this is important to my story. It rained most of the night. Looked loke there was a lake in the front seat. :haha; surves them right after all while I was scanning the lot I noticed ADM's on every model there rainging from $2 to 3 grand mark up. I also asked for a quote on a geart change for the 500 and they quoted me a price of $1,900 $200 was for gear oil friction modifyer and silicone. :nonono;
Guess I will take my future business elsewhere. :nonono:

Bone,

1) Wait until I return from deployment in October
2) Drive to Maryland
3) We'll throw the car on the lift change all of the fluids, detail the undercarriage (yes I have done this on mine, I know OCD) pull the gears and install news ones with some assistance from my buddy (local Ford mechanic) for $100 (alignments and bearing installs),
4) Go out and test the new gears :chirp:
5) Enjoy some cold ones. :beerchug:

You get to see the country and I bet we can do all of that for less that $2000. :moneyman:

Road trip How fun would that be?
I ordered some nuts a bolt and some touch up paint. The parts guy said that I could pick them up Saturday. So me and the wife went on a trip to Yosemite for the day and on the way back we stopped in to get my parts. Only thing that was there was the paint. :nonono: :fail:
Looks like I won't be back for any more service. They just wasted to much of my time.

Not only did they waste your time, but you probably paid $15 for touch up paint and $4 for each nut and bolt.

More stupid stuff from Tracy Ford. I washed the SHO today because it stopped raining for a couple days and when they checked the air in the tires they left one of the valve stem covers off. This will be the last time thy will touch my car.
Its getting ridiculous.

:doh2: What a bunch of dufi ...that's why most folks just hate to go to the dealer ...they do more to damage to the overall ownership experience than anything else, I think.

Could be worse Art...........................I head out to take my car this am (nice cool morning.........low 60s)..............plus, still need to put more miles on it to get the sensors to pick up after having the battery disconnected (need my inspection completed). Start her up and WOW it was loud. No, not because of the headers, but because my drivers side catback slipped out of the bracket somehow. :nonono: Kinda wanted to just take them both off, but realize that's not really a good thing to do.

Hoping to change the oil again in the SHO. Its been raining so much here that I can't move the Shelby out of the garage to do it. I went to Costco and got a new tent building to park the Sho in. It doesn't get driven much so I need to protect it from the rain and sun. Will post picks when I start to build it.

That's cool. Stores do not carry it and Ford wants big bucks for it. I found it easier to just order it from K-man. It is still cheaper even know there is a delivery charge. I like home delivery too.

Our Advance Auto parts sell it here cheaper than the dealer. My Motorcraft friend supplies it to both the dealers and to Advance.

Oil change went fine. No pictures crap I'm slipping LOL
I did have a slight problem though. I drained all the oil and it all made it into the pan, not like last time. Then i was just about to prime the filter when i noticed that the parts guy gave me the wrong oil. 5/20 not 5/30. So I had to go to Walmart to get some Mobil 1. I usually use Motorcraft but they only have a blend. So i will take the oil back to the parts guy today and trade it for some 5/50 for the Monster. He only charged me $50 for the oil.7 quarts.

So what does the "manual" call for?

The Bone
01-26-2016, 11:52 AM
Calls for 5/30. Replaced it with 5/50 for the Shelby. Cost me $12.50 more. :thud:
