We're staying in the paddock area - above the garages. I think there's a covered balcony overlooking the straight...should be good for some vids

Captured some excellent video and pics from there last year. Problem is you all pass by so fast on the straight away that it's really hard to get excellent video like the professionals without the $10,000 set up. I did pretty good with my Sony setup though. :) I made my way to all the different photo stops last trip and ended up with lots of shots of everyone. I enjoyed being in the wooden built stand just as you guys enter the track on the staight away the best. I could feel that entire structure shake when the faster cars really got on it. :yes:

After some fuel tank issues :nonono: the day was a great day.

First run I got black flagged for fuel leakage. :banghead: Come to find out that my model years of car have a grommet at the tank that is notorious for cracking and leaking. So I made a trip to the auto parts in town and got some fuel tank leak stop putty and some resin. (The grommet is a factory part) so I cleaned it all up and packed in a couple packages of leak stop, let it set up and covered it all w/ resin. No more leaky. But I lost a full session. :banghead:

Next two sessions were awesome. Passed lots of cars. :grin: Mustangs, Corvettes and a Mini Cooper. :surprised: Can't hang w/ the high HP GT500's and Corvettes in my group yet. :weg:

It's that 170 deg wide angle that does that. Captures a large field of view and settles the picture down, but slows the action as well. If you had a narrower view as we see ourselves - it would appear much faster. They should offer options. I think they only have this standard wide angle that I have here - and a new HD wide angle.

The one that caused it has really stepped up to the plate though. When at a track you sign waivers that you are responsible for your own vehicle and only damage to track facilities. The party at fault is working on getting both vehicles fixed, paying for towing, paying for a rental car. and delivering the car back to the owner when finished. :surprised:

He has gained much respect from me. I don't ever want to be in that position, it could get expensive quickly. Hence I buy track insurance now.

I'm not worried about myself - I'm worried about the other guy. Some idiot in a Saleen passed me on the inside of a turn - shoulda had his ticket pulled for the weekend.
