First off ... thanks to Alloy Dave, whom I met at the 6th annual ShelbyFest a couple of weeks ago, for letting me know of Stangs United's presence on the web.

My name is Rich and I am on my 2nd Mustang ... both black of course, to make Henry Ford happy. My first one, after being a life-long Camaro guy, was a 2006 V6 Mustang Pony. Good thing GM had discontinued the Camaro and Ford had the wisdom to introduce their retro body style in '05. Otherwise, I might have never known what I was missing by not owning a Mustang. Liked the Pony so well that last November, I cloned it ... adding a couple of bushels of steroids ... and VOILA! ... I'm now in a 2012 Shelby GT500 and lovin' every minute of it.

The nickname comes from the fact that my dear wife claims I can only do one thing at a time. So, since I'm apparently not a multitasker, she started calling me The Unitasker.

OK ... my 2nd post:

Now I have a question. After spending an hour or so making my avatar fit the 120px by 120px stated max, I see a lot of 200px by 200px avatars. What are the true limits for avatars, signatures, etc?

And thanks for all the 'welcomes'. Glad to be here.

Unlike most forums, StangsUnited is a 100% NON-PROFIT Corp. As such, the forum is really just a part of the official Club, so Club Members who have donated to the club get special privledges that other people who just register on the forum do not get.

Thank you. That answers my question. I was a paying member of BMC (Black Mustang Club) for a few years before I figured out what a complete waste of time that was ... nothing EVER happened there in the midwest. After a short time at FordGT500.com, I determined it was worth belonging to so I became a paid member there. Once I see that Stangs United is more than a do-nothing online club, and things actually happen where I can meet others in my area, I will surely become a paid member here also. [Fingers crossed]

Alloy Dave has already told me about the Memorial Day weekend gathering in Brown County, Indiana. Unforutnately, I have a conflicting obligation in Florida that week every year so I won't be able to make that close-to-home event unless the date changes in the future. :( If it were any other weekend, I wouldn't miss it.

There are quite a few INDY members. Just watch out though, Dave will try to tempt you into helping him renovate his rental properties for donut fees.

Welcome Rich!! Glad you bumped into Dave and signed-on the site here.

Re the Av: if you like it here and choose to join as a Club Member ($20/year) you get a bunch of benefits beyond being a site registrant -- two small ones are larger Av and sig areas. You also get to post in any "Family Forums" (anyone can read but only Club Members can post there) and the Club-Member-only area (only Club Members can read or post), as well as get access to Club events and apparel offers, etc (more here (http://stangsunited.com/showthread.php?5003-Some-background-on-the-Stangs-United-Club-and-this-forum-website)) As a site registrant yoiu can still join in the fun as long as you like but with the above limitations.

If you do decide to become a Club Member, just click the blue "donate" button on the line below the splash-pic at the top of any page. Under IRS rules, donations are not tax-dedictible -- tho we are a 501C7 non-profit corporation -- because all donations benefit the Club Members anyway. Everyone who helps run this site (admin, mods, officers/board members) all do so as volunteers without compensation and all monies received are used for the benefit of the Club. We choose to also make many of the features of this Club website available to non-member site-registrants because we beleive that's a good way to attract like-minded car nuts ...and future Club Members.

Welcome to the site, Rich!! Hope you enjoy...

-Dan
