Hey guys my options for color opened up a little more when I saw a 2005 candy apple red gt at a dealership so heres a few pictures of what I would do with a candy and if I got a torch everything else would be the same 9833 candy I would do the gt500 bumpers and a 1 1/2"cowl 9834with the red/black carbon fiber stripes. Torch red I would do the gt500kr hood and same stripe9835

In 2005, they had the redfire and that lasted until 2008 when the candy apple red came out. They may have repainted that 2005 or it may be a 2008.

I never liked the "red fire" color, I like the Torch Red :shades: and the candy red if it's like what is used on the Taurus and F150's.

I can't really tell the diffrence between red fire and dark candy red, but im really liking the look of this color in person so I have my eyes set out for redfire or candy. But thanks vapordude I forgot they called it redfire

Refire has a little of a maroon tint to it. If you notice on the candy, there is no maroon tint. Here are a couple of pictures of them.

Either color looks good but I think the candy looks just a little bit better IMO. If you are re-painting a car, the candy will be a little more expensive because it is applied differently than the redfire.

Jim, I wondering if your ultimate motor choice might affect the economics ...if there's benefit to shoot to get an '07 since the chassis is considerably stronger than the '05/6 (30% stronger ttortionally) ...especially if you're planning over 500HP and if you can get one with a blown engine much cheaper than a running '05 since you mentioned the 3V would have to go anyway. Of course, you won't be driving it right away then, but if you're planning to pull the 3-valve anyway when you go to the procharger (dunno) it might be consideration? Just a thought.
