Been looking for quite awhile and discovered this here in town for a good price.
Not sure where it will end up yet but I think it will fit in well.
Anyone else have a pump? This one is a 1942 Bowser.

Thanks Dan...it's very nice. A guy here in town restores them. He's getting up there and this is probably one of the last he will restore.

...when I was a kid the 'old' stations still had ones like that ...the 'new' stations had the squarer-edged two-sided pumps.
===
...when I was helping my cuz move to Oregon in the early '70s, we ran out of gas while I was taking a nap (bonzai run upstate NY to Salem OR in about 51 hours in a Pinto station wagon :faint:) about 5a.m. on a sunday morning. We were about two miles from an overpass so we climbed the embankment and flagged down the first car that came along. It was and elderly farmer and his wife in their '54 Ford p/u headng to 6a.m. mass in town. Said he couldn't help us now but would be glad to if we could wait until about 6:40 (on his way back) ... ....sure enough, he came back at 6:40 on the button and gave us a lift to their farm (and it was fun riding in the back!!).
There he let us borrow an old gas can which he filled from one of those big stantion-type pumps with a glass cylinder on top. He told me to pump the handle until it filled up to the #5 ...I did. Then he put the nozel in the can and released something and it just gravity-drained into the can. Never saw one like that before but it was very cool! ;-) What nice folks too ...especially since we're NYers out somewhere in the flatlands (lol) ...would not take a cent and even invited us in for breakfast. Whenever I help someone out seems I always think of that farmer and his wife.

That's cool Dan. The pump you refer to is what they call a visible pump. (very popular in the 20's) The number 5 is the 5 gallon mark. These pumps were very popular on farms also because they did not require electricity. You pump it up manualy with the handle on the side and let gravity fill the tank. I actually remember whan I was very young my dad filling the car with one of those in KY.

Very cool!
Nice that you have premium on hand right in the garage now! Can I buy about 1000 gallons from you at the $0.26/gallon the pump says it is? :2cents:
