OK, the Cobra is getting close. They were able to level the engine on the mounts by shimming one side a little, but the shims were to raise the passenger side. Turns out the mounts aren't exactly level. Dropping it would have involved re-welding the driver's side mount.

So now the driver's side is still higher than I'd like. The pipe rubs on the body. I can see under high revving and torque the pipe rises and has a "polishes" mark. There is also a slight check starting in the CF where it rubs. The folks at Shelby told me they'd just rasp off a little bit (remember, these were not show room cars and I'm not surprised at all at the solution).

I though of an alternate solution would be to bend the headers down a little bit. The side pipes are slip-over anyway, so I wouldn't think it would be too difficult.

Thoughts?

If you heat only the bottom side of the primaries close to the collector (not too close or the collector will work as a heat sink) they will pull down slightly....have done this on race cars before....not sure if this area is visible or not though as it will cause some discolouration...
