So after 6 seasons, it all came to an end, and, of course, as expected, not every question was answered. What bothered you the most not knowing in the end? What's your take on the meaning/significance of the island? Did you feel LOST after it all?
I'm like 8 or 9 episodes behind, I'm waiting for the DVD/BLU-RAY of season 6. I don't want to know.....:lalala:
They put as much thought into the ending as Stephen King does for his novels.
Fail.
Too many loose ends.

So in other words, I'll know as much after watching season 6 on DVD as I do now.

You'll know a little more, but not everything you want to know...

I watched it off and on but was never able to keep up with it. Or maybe not. I was never able to stitch together the various things going on. I haven't watched last night's finale yet. Probably be this weekend before I see it.

I've actually had time to digest and have come to the conclusion that the island was just a place for everyone to work out their demons, i.e., "to let go", before moving on. They were all dead before they ever got to the island, and just didn't realize it. It was all about Jack. The whole lot in the end were people that either Jack needed or needed Jack. It was all about his "crossing over". But the whole button thing, the Dharma thing, the whole Whitmore thing...totally left wide open. rrrrr

Ditto, but I did explain to Little Debbie during dinner the other night that one weekend I'll get all the seasons and make a major veg out time with them. After hearing all the negative comments about last nights show from loyal followers who are very upset I think I'll skip on it now.

I for one watched every episode and thought the ending was appropriate. My take is exactly like Christian said... Everything that happened, happened with the exception being the sideways flashes if this year...they are all dead and they all died at different times in life ... The island was real, Daniel and Charlotte all real .. The sideways flashes were there sort of purgatory.. Showing their errs if their ways and their issues.. Jack had daddy issues just ad Locke did... Kate always felt guilty for murdering someone ... Sawyer was always wanting to get away from who he was and be more than locked con man father was ... Hurley really was given the power from Jack to protect the pearly gates only to die as well... Ben couldn't cross over because he has too many demons to still work out...I have more answers that I feel were given in that last episode than questions...fitting ending For a pretty darn good show if you ask me...

I watched the first 2 season, but kinda Lost my way in Season 3. Recently I started over with Season 1 on Netflix Instant View, hopefully Season 6 will be out by the time I finish 5.

I watched a little bit of season 1 because it looked like an interesting and unique idea....after a couple of shows I was left thinking this could have easily just been summed up in one bad movie never mind a series....I can't believe it lasted 6 years without ever going any where but I guess a President can last 8 years doing that so why not a TV show?

I can't believe more people on this site did not watch LOST. I was an avid fan since the beginning and it was one of the few shows I recorded so I could watch it after the kids went to bed so I would not be distracted. The way the show was put together was kind of like a Jazz ensemble. It went off in lots of different directions and the producers did not have a clue what they were going to do too far in advance so it was really improvised. As such it would be hard for them to answer all the questions and honestly there were so many that I did not expect them to. I personally am sad to see it over because they could have run with it for several more seasons.
BTW - I would have expected OCD to chime in on this thread! Stacey where are you?

I agree, FarmDog...this show was very captivating, and it was one of the few that I have made sure never to miss. In between seasons, I'd rewatch the previous season before the next would even start! And they certainly could have kept it going, and brought everything together a bit more cohesively in the end...although it was a decent end. Definately plan to buy the complete works and look for nuances missed. Losing this show is like losing a good friend. I'll miss it dearly.

The whole finale plus the cast on Jerry Kimmel was on last night. The hints (like closed captioning) they put on really helped alot since I didn't follow it much the last couple of years.
I thought the "unofficial ending" with Jeff Probst was a hoot!!!

I have started over with lost since I stopped watching somewhere in Season 2 or 3. I think I remember one of the reasons I stopped. Many of the episodes I have watch lately in season 2 have some much repeating it get boring at times. I swear one of the last episodes I watch the other day had at least 15 mins of the previous episode in it.

didn't take much notice to that. I didn't start to watch until the 3rd season when I caught it, and before the 4th started, I watched all 3 seasons just to make sure I didn't miss anything major. One of these days, I'll get to rewatching it all.
