we're still ironing out bugs since the upgrade...did you log out, clear cookies, etc, then log in? if you have it saved as a quick link to open, delete that link as and re-apply.

I had the same problem today. I had to log out and when I logged back in it still went to an invalid address, I simply clicked on forums and it took me here. Something strange must have happened since last night. It also does not remember me when I return to the site even though I have the 'remember me checked.

Yep, I had the EXACT thing Heidi. No problems until last night.

Joker guessed (correctly) that my bookmark was pointed towards the main www.stangsunited.com address, which was fine before we did the site updates the other week. When that update went through it messed with our home page.

Save the bookmark as http://stangsunited.com/forum.php and you'll be fine.

Is this problem being addressed?

How do we let the other members who don't have contact with the club outside of this website know the site is fine and this is what they need to do to access the site?

I think we use this website but if someone cannot access I guess we should post-up a recommendation in the members section of an email address they should use to notify us ([email protected] or ???) just in case? Maybe we already have -- uncertain?

I got the database error when just connecting to www.stangsunited.com. It lasted for two days. When I finally deleted all my cookies I was able to log in again. Then it happened again, tonight.

I also do observe that if I go to www.stangsunited.com/forums.php it will work.

But no matter what after I go back with the saved cookie set I get the error on the "home page".

I believe we have our Host looking into this Tony.

I saved a bookmark w the "/forums" part so I can get right back on for now.

Hosting says it's not them. Seems like it's VB 4.2 problem and that's why we see the VB database error msg.
Hopefully they will offer a fix soon even tho there is the 'php' work-around.

---

Tony, have you tried the new "Default Mobile Style" (in the left side of the pull-down in the 'contact' bar at the very bottom of each page). Wondering if it's helped the slow-load problem that you seemed to be uniquely experiencing. Appreciate your feedback when you get a chance.

Tommy Gun

I don't think it's unique to Tony, I think he is just persistent and gets back on.

others I believe are giving up and have no contact to find out why it doesn't work.

I've discussed this in the Admin area, but haven't found an answer yet.

i viewed Dans thread, and navigated others after with no issues...however...after clicking his link to the shots, verizon security quickly popped up telling me it was a dangerous site, so i just backed out...

Below is what i have in gmail regarding access attempts with the following IPs linked with the same response...one IP is out of Osgood, IN...a second out of Virginia Beach (not mine), a third out of Pitt, a fourth out of Southhaven...whatever it is, its tied to the link...no issues with the server or site...Dan..recommend you delete the link and try a better one..

You mean the link to SEMA? I don't see how that can be the problem.

Ok, think I figured it out ...the only place the text string exists that's it's barfin on is in the title of the thread. It's not going to let me edit the title -- actually it will let me but it won't actually change it -- so Keith can you delete the title and re-key it ...there must be a hidden special character in it. It has to be that because that's the only place that character string exists ...it's not the same string as in the link.

ok, I erased and re-keyed a different title and it seems to have accepted it ...see if that made any difference. If not an admin will have to edit it.

a third out of Pitt

Ahem....

That would be me. My IP is still blocked.

Oh,

and may I suggest keeping thread titles simple.

this isn't the first time a character in the title has caused an issue.

Much like a title in a newspaper - short and to the point.

I still am as well. Tried to reset modum and release/renew IP address and still can't get on at home.

Wish someone like Joker or CD would look into this.

HELP!!!

What's weird is why only some addresses? Was it just those who accessed from a cell-wireless device? In any event I'll try to remember to only keystroke titles (not copy and paste) ...assuming that was the cause :innocent:

Il has nothing to do with cell or wifi. It has something to do with that particular thread, and accessing it at a certain time. Doing so got you IP blocked somehow.

I know there's a list of blocked IPs, but I think those are manually blocked -- George used to block the Chinese and Mid-East hackers manually before the S/W that checks the [various] blacklists was put on. I wonder if it automatically added the IPs to that same list -- that would probably be too simple.

You are right. I checked the list. My IP is not on it. Nor is it on the miserable list. I looked for Joe's, too. Not on either one.

The blocked IPs are buried somewhere, but I can't find them.

Of course, I'm no expert, either.

I have removed all 4 IP from csf.deny.

That explains why I was able to log in with wifi first thing this morning.

However, it locked up right away again. Went back to LTE and everything is fine. I think my IP might be blacklisted again.

Check that.

Back on wifi. Not locked out, but running considerably slower than LTE. Most likely a local issue for me.
