I didn't really care for the Shaker 1000 in my 09 GT500. I grew up listening to Rock music and I do like some base but I'm not one of those guys at the stop light whose car is going Boom, Boom, Boom. The kind of music I listen to doesn't require all that extra boom boom base so I decided to swap it out for the factory NAV system. The factory NAV is basically a Shaker 500 system and it won't power the Shaker 1000 speakers in the trunk so I decided to remove them and the amplifiers for the extra room and to remove the excess weight.

I got the NAV unit from a Stangs United member, there is a clue in one of the pictures as to who I got it from.
See if you can figure it out.

Below are some step by step pics of what I did.

Well, now I know why I couldn't find the NAV antenna for you.........................doubful that my installers took the time to remove it while installing my AVIC Z2. I'm sure if I someone pulled my gauge cluster, they'd find it there.

Yes it can, NAV units were available for the late 07 builds.

As hard as it was for you to find this cart it may be wise to keep all the parts you change. If you ever decide to sell it the new buyer will most likely want those parts. By themselves not worth much money but down the road maybe worth more. I know these cars are not the collector car yet but someday they will bring in the crazy money to. Especially if everyone is driving electric cars
