View Full Version : Drove a 5.0 today

So today SJK hosted a track rental, He bought a 2014 5.0 for him for driving but, Sheldon is going crazy with venom flowing through his veins. He gave the 5.0 to his son and is looking to buy an 07. My friend jay (sheldons son) gave me the keys to the 5.0, Jays first run was a 13.3 at 108mph, I then got in the car and ran a 13.2 at 105mph a few other of their buddies drove the car, one topped my run off with a 13.25 at 106mph 16runs later and hot lap after hot lap I jumped in the car again and ran a 13.1 at 108mph 4 runs later I still ran the fastest!!! =) Few other guys at the rental went up to my dad and asked if that was lil Jim driving after my dad replied with yes, People couldn't believe how good I could drove it

For sure! My '68 390 only ran mid-14s (street tires) ...and it was probably 500# lighter ...but it did make about 100HP less.
