Ford, Lincoln and Mercury year-to-date sales totaled 783,845, up 31 percent versus year ago
Ford gains retail market share for the 19th time in the last 20 months, as more buyers turn to Ford’s fresh lineup of high-quality, fuel-efficient vehicles
Ford announces plans to build 570,000 vehicles in the third quarter, up 80,000 vehicles (16 percent) versus third quarter 2009; second quarter plan increased by 15,000 vehicles

It would have been more if Lincoln and Mercury kept up the pace with the rest of the lineup. Either way, very well done Ford.

True... there were rumors over the holiday weekend that Mercury brand might go south, but dunno if rumor or plan or merely 'testing-the-watters.'

I believe it will become true by this weekend. In Autoweek, they said that the Grand Marquis and Mountaineer will go away after this year anyway. That would only leave them with 2 platforms and no brand will survive on just that alone. Maybe Mercury should bring back the Bobcat, that would be from the Fiesta platform.
