View Full Version : For those with problems with slow text while typing or missing letter etc.

I noticed that I was having an issue when responding to posts in the quick reply box. I would have the text appear much slower then I was typing and most of the time words would have missing letters. I believe I have found a solution that might help some people.

1. Go to the setting page in the upper left of your screen.
2. Click on general settings on the lower left of your screen.
3. Scowl down to miscellaneous options towards the bottom and click on the standard editor.
4. Click save changes on the lower right and then leave the page.

This so far has fixed my issue on Windows 7 and IE 11. I was on the enhanced interface setting before I changed to the standard. I have read some reports of Chrome also having issues like this and for some people this helped.

Hope this helps those of you experiencing the same thing I was.

Ok, just changed it back to WYSIWYG editor and the typing delay is gone! Go figure.

You have had weird issues on this site since we started it. Have you had the same computer the whole time?

Probably need to chuck it out the window and tell Jan it fell off the desk and get yourself a new one.

Strange, my first line typed okay, but my second line was slow....haven't changed anything yet...I'm on an Apple product using Safari at the moment...

Still can't edit the tag-line over my avatar -lol- it doesn't even appear in my profile.

Have you had the same computer the whole time?

..

...no, but the tagline has nothing to do with the computer ...used to XP-SP2 until a few years ago :shades:

..actually I've had very few issues with the site that are unique to me ....the tag line weirdness is the only one I can recall offhand and it's not something that matters.

Joker, the below was at the top of the header on the opening page (article page) to the site (page you log in on). Also, none of the images on the Articles page were shown along with only the Tech article link being visible. Also saw the below at the top after page loading from logging in.

Warning: Declaration of vBCms_Item_Content::setItemId() should be compatible with that of vB_Model::setItemId() in ..../packages/vbcms/item/content.php on line 26

Okay I was able to get rid of that error message. I'm not sure what you are talking about with the images on that page as all the images looked normal to me. Also there's the tech link and FMCO news and a Magazines and articles link also there.

It's asking for my special password that you all set up, not my regular password.

I have that somewhere near my PC and not w/ my iPad.

Not sure why it's asking for "that" password?

:tiphat2:

as for the images/links...i see it only being affected when i first open to the site (before logging in). The articles page is what it opens to. No story images are displayed, nor the other two tech links, just SU Tech links. After logging in the article page reloads (logged in) and all is normal, images are shown and other links are visible (FMCO, etc). Weird, yes...but dont recall this happening before the upgrade. Big deal, not really, but isn't the same. I'll try and clear cookies or other crap to se if that changes what i'm seeing.
