The research FRPP does is the reason why I bought the 550HP kit for my Shelby GT/SC. It goes on easy, is plug and play tuning, I trap 118mph in the heat with an automatic, and got over 23mpg on the way down to Shelbyfest this year. Not one single issue yet. FRPP and whipple build a great product. The new 5.0 whipple should be just as nice to work with. Thanks for sharing.

Good video. Brought back memories for me, as in the late '80s and early '90s I worked in an engine test cell and ran dynamometer tests. It was very interesting running tests with funny names like the "death rattle trap" test, "altitude" test, "surge" test, and my personal favorite the "Disco" test.

I was there last week.

I asked a few people about you, but no one remembered you.

We did a lot of "test to failure". However, the "failures" were usually not as dramatic as you would think. The death rattle trap is where you run the engine at rated speed/load, then remotely let all the oil out of the engine and see how long it runs. Amazingly they would run 6-10 minutes that way, then slowly grind to a halt.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, a SuperCharged 5.0 is going to give many a GT500 a run for it's Money$.

I think this new Ford V8 may turn out to be one of it's very, very best. JMO

I worked mainly on the 11 liter engines, but I did a few 14 liter also. We make engines all the way up to 91 liters, but those are too big for the test cells where I worked...the largest we could handle there the 19 liter ones. The bigger ones are tested in England.

The Sc gt350 engine has only about 6lbs of boost. This is at the limit that engine can take. Mainly because of it's already high 11:1 compression ratio and boost limited hypereutectic pistons . I'm not saying that it couldn't be built for a power adder like a SC but it was mainly designed to be a NA engine. That is where it is in it's element. (Especially the up and coming 2012 Boss 302 which will be a cut above the current 5.0GT in many ways including many engine and suspension differences.)
