"New $390,000 Ford GT supercar with 600 horsepower wows Detroit Motor Show
Spokesman said price is likely to be comparable with Lamborghini Aventador"

Now, if you had 390K, would you spend it on a 600 hp 6, or a 700 hp 12, ......that is the question !

................................Looks like my stable will stay static for the foreseeable future.

Lets start a price prediction for the new GT in this thread. My guess is it will be around $320,000 US.

Most likely >400K, some say that it will be >500K. Remember, only 300 units per year with 1200 total production, so they have to recoup the unit cost. I'll be ecstatic if it is less.

Do you recall what the production numbers were on the 2006?

I was guessing $349k... but could be $100k in either direction.

If it comes in at around 250K (or less) it will be the deal of the century. My guess is somewhere north of 300K, especially if ADMs come to fruition.

My prediction is I don't have to worry about it. I already rode on the wild side.

Yep. Got stopped near Glenwood Springs for going 101MPH in a 50MPH zone (most of Glenwood Canyon is 50 both directions). The 101 was probably under what they were really going but the number required to get a court appearance by each of the 3 drivers.

I drive that frequently (and just did two weeks ago) and it's a twisty portion on a raised/split roadbed along the Colorado River. The speed limit is low, I think, to reduce the risk of gawkers running off the road. If there isn't a lot of traffic and if it is dry and not cold then it's a good road in a sports car. There are some turns I slow down, but even my truck is good to 60-65 for most of it.

Ford is doing high-altitude testing. The cars have been spotted all over north-central Colorado on and off freeways but mostly above 7000 or 8000 feet.

That would be a nice 175 mile drive from there to Denver ...with no traffic probably 1.5 hours :haha:

Price increases coming for the next batch. 50K+ adder for the base car, and huge increases in all options. A little birdie added up the common options and the average car will now approach 650K.

For the price of one new GT you can get a McLaren 720S as a daily driver and a new 650LT for the track.
