I'm not always on the side of big business, beleive me. But IMO this couple should be sentenced to 20 years in prison. I can't stand greedy liars.

Actually GM didn't win -- plaintiff dropped the case. The dufi who brought the case lied and, as a result of their testimony thereby being tainted (legal principle: lie in one part permits presumption of a lie in other parts), the plaintiff dropped the case against GM. That said -- yeah, they were trying to cash-in on lies and forgery :doh2: ...they will, rightly, do time for this once convicted on a criminal fraud charge brought by the DA -- who almost certainly will if hasn't already.

Meanwhile, a woman who spent three months in jail for involuntary manslaughter and reckless driving had her conviction overturned Wednesday after her lawyers successfully argued her accident was caused by GM's flawed ignition switch -- linky (http://money.cnn.com/2015/08/26/news/companies/ignition-switch-conviction-overturned/index.html?iid=EL) Hillard previously oveturned the conviction of Candice Anderson who was also convicted of involuntary manslaughter when the car she was driving crashed and killed her boyfriend in 2004. "An innocent woman was convicted of involuntary manslaughter only because GM's sole concern was hiding its own evil conduct even if it meant Lakisha would go to jail," said Hilliard.
